Well this is an extremely interesting thread as I to have already had one crack. Bought the car, rear wheel had a small rash spot on it from some novice drivers test drive, other than that the car is clean at 120 miles, so dealer says they will have it repaired. Get the car back with the locking lug broken exactly like the pics on page , needless to say I am piissd, dealer replaces the lugs with a new set, but now I've got to find out if they are the wrong ones.
BTW, does anyone know if the Projectkics Caliber 24 lugs are a correct fit for the 370 lugs, every place I've looked has S2000 and RSX fitment. mAc |
Yep wrong ones, dealer put on 999H1-A7003 and this was just last week.
So off I go in the morning back to the dealer, boy are they going to be happy to see me!!!!!!! Thanks everybody for all the info mAc |

Nissan had notified the dealers to use the wrong part for the wheel locks.
They have posted a service bulletin about it - notify the dealer about this, and if they're worth their salt, they should contact other people who have bought one to have them bring it in so they can swap the locks out for the correct ones... |
So I'm back from the dealer, let see if I can find the smiley for the looks on their faces when I brought this up.......or maybe.......they had no clue!!!!! Interesting, the owner of the dealership was in his office with the sales manager, so we had a talk.....over 20 370Z's sent out with the wrong locks on them and they had 2 on the lot with the wrong ones. I'll have to wait until Friday to get the right ones but I got the standard lugnuts so I can at least drive the car.
Thanks again everyone and get the word out!!!!! mAc |
At least your dealer listened to you. Both sales and service department laughed at my face and degraded me to the lowest level when I told them they were installing the wrong wheel locks. Note this was before AND after the Nissan service bulletin went out. Anyways, I contacted Nissan corporate directly and the dealer is now refunding me my $$$ for the wheel locks that they never installed in the first place.

Lug nut explode
I just bought a new blue touring sport 7AT. I drove home and the anti theft lug nuts exploded. This just sucks I live 50 miles from the dealer.

Add me to the list of incorrect wheel locks. Dealer was totally oblivious to the situation.......

Wow this is crazy that dealerships are clueless, lets hope they aren't anymore.
If I were you guys I'd just get the money back anyways, wheel locks are annoying and barely even slow down/inconvenience a thief. I know this first hand as I lost the key to my locks for my RSX and quickly found a way to get them all off in less than 5 minutes with NO special tools. |
Broken locking lugnut for me too! Made my brake rotor install tonight a little more interesting.
Ordered a set of the McGard 21153's from Summit Racing (McGard 21153 - McGard Wheel Locks - Overview - SummitRacing.com) before I realized Courtesy had the right part now from Nissan. From what I read in the other thread about the locking lugnuts, the McGrad part should work just fine. |
Yep, wrong ones installed on mine and one broke too. Took dealer all day to replace but they did it at no charge and now the correct ones are on.
