Bold and Daring move

I was contemplating doing this for quite some time because I was afraid that it may be too radical for the majority of people. But, I finally decided to go for it. Check out the pictures for the results. Either hate it or like it. Lets not go into the whole issue of name brand vs non name brand; expensive vs cheap; lighter vs heavier; etc. There must be people daring to try new and exciting things. Thanks for viewing.

Jordo! 12-31-2010 08:44 PM

Looks good, but all gold would look better than the L/R switch-up...

fullmonty 12-31-2010 08:45 PM

I think the black looks pretty nice, but the 2 different colors just arn't my style. Props to you for having the balls to do it though

toxik 12-31-2010 09:46 PM

i don't understand the 2 rim style thing, but it doesn't look bad. and good choice on going against the grain!

c41006 12-31-2010 10:03 PM

props

Jose Aliling 12-31-2010 10:08 PM

gold +1

kenchan 12-31-2010 10:30 PM

Dont they come in green or shocking pink?

;) jk, I like the all gold and lower it a tad. Should look good.

SPOHN 12-31-2010 11:17 PM

Hell no.

TongMan 12-31-2010 11:25 PM

While getting my tires mounted, we found this extra bolt in between the studs. What is this?

It's because I've always liked the gold/blue theme look, but I also like the blacked out look, so I just thought, why not just get both? So I did.

TreeSemdyZee 12-31-2010 11:30 PM

It's to keep from mounting the back rims on the front. Take it off.

odie99 12-31-2010 11:32 PM

I haven't pulled the wheels off of the Z to check, but usually that's there to keep you from mounting a front wheel on the back or vice versa. They put them on the new Bentley Continental Supersports because the back wheels are different from the front, but not by much.

EDIT-- beat me to it.

Ya found thy bolt while trying to mount te37SL's on my friend's car. It's a bolt put there so you could not mount the rear wheels in the front, good job Nissan lol

NewYorkJon34 01-01-2011 12:45 AM

I don't get the whole 2 different rim thing, it really rices up the car imo. The OP should have gone with the darker rims since the fangs are painted.

Lemers 01-01-2011 01:25 AM

I feel it would make more since to do the different colors front/back instead of right/left.

Now that will be rice. Since you can only see one side of the car at a time ....and he likes both color. I think he made a great decision.

2004YZFR1 01-01-2011 01:50 AM

I like the black rims but not the gold at all. But it's yours so enjoy.

Rims are same specs, same rim, same brand, just different colors. How much darker can I have gone? Its already black.

I know that its not everyone's cup of tea, but thanks for your mature input.

Kirkster 01-01-2011 11:32 AM

I think the wheels are pretty cool BUT.....

Next time steal 4 wheels off of the same car not two different ones...

JK. Its a free world whatever floats your boat and the wheels don't look bad...

NewYorkJon34 01-01-2011 12:25 PM

I ment all 4 black rims, not darker rims, lol

TongMan 01-01-2011 12:38 PM

Oh, gotcha.

Paul_S 01-01-2011 12:46 PM

I quite like them :) They remind me of this:

Chris_1 01-01-2011 04:22 PM

Looks good, we do this alot in the wheel industry with promo vehicles, but typically with a different style wheel on each side. Its not bad, but I would say I like the black more only b/c of the black theme you have going on the rest of the car.

Jamaica 01-01-2011 04:39 PM

hey man you finally did it. Looks better then I expected! call your car two face now.Good job

This bolt helps you remove the front brake rotors.

TongMan 01-02-2011 01:09 AM

Two more shots. Side views on each side.

I'm sorry but I would just garage my z until I can afford a new paint job on those rims or if you have stockers just switch out the tires...
That's kinda embarassing...

shabarivas 01-02-2011 03:35 AM

Woah a fellow sacramentonian!!!

Man the switch up thing is not for me - the black looks killer got one question tho - why did you not get a wider setup f/r?

These rims do not come any wider than the staggered sets that I got.

I'm already aware of the negative comments by doing this as it not the norm.

kenchan 01-02-2011 07:46 AM

Hey tongman- how come you're not wearing 2 different colored shoes in those picts??

ZeeingAround 01-02-2011 01:26 PM

:icon18:

TongMan 01-02-2011 03:54 PM

Sorry, didn't bring an extra pair of shoes to change.

Jeffblue 01-02-2011 04:04 PM

looks cool. i definitely like the gold better on your car if you were to pick 1 color.

TongMan 01-02-2011 04:25 PM

Thanks Jeff. Here's my car with my buddy's Cobra.

Gunzero 01-02-2011 07:41 PM

m4a1mustang 01-02-2011 07:45 PM

They both look good. :D

CrownR426 01-02-2011 08:21 PM

Should've done all 4 different colors!
Gun Metal Gray, Gloss Black, Gold, Takata Green

RCZ 01-03-2011 08:37 AM

^ lol.

I would've gone for the monochromatic shades of gray all around.

Red__Zed 01-03-2011 09:01 AM

the gold actually looks pretty sweet
