i can get a close up for you some time today. just of the hub?

phunk 12-11-2010 02:27 PM

that would be great... just a couple shots all around the lug/hub area in the center of the wheel. i would like to see the opening where the centercap goes etc and see what i can determine before my wheels arrive. unfortunately without getting a precise inside diameter of the SLs hub, i cant really bother starting the CAD work.

Spec Jay 12-11-2010 05:07 PM

you sure? haha
this is with the 20mm and -3 camber in the rear
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...g?t=1292108773
im going back down to a 15mm so i can go wider with less camber

ilive2win 12-11-2010 05:46 PM

want to send me your 20mm so i can try them out

j/k

looks good though, i still dont think im going to run spacers. im just going to do the camber kit and go from there. i do want to put wider tires on as well

Spec Jay 12-11-2010 06:12 PM

i guess you might be ok since you aren't running the +12 up front. sure makes me nervous about going with a 255 hahah

ilive2win 12-11-2010 06:21 PM

you will probably rub with a 255 up front no? i have a little room with the +22 up front and a 245/40. fully lock it rubs just a tiny little bit with my setup

Spec Jay 12-11-2010 06:33 PM

i plan on rolling the lip flat on the front. im also running 5 series smaller. i only rub the fender liner.

phunk 12-12-2010 10:58 AM

thanks for the pictures!!

is that lip i see back in there, the edge of a hub centric ring?

NP! Yup that is the hub centric ring

phunk 12-12-2010 03:31 PM

excellent... since it is exposed on the inside of the hub opening, that means it will be no trouble to fit a one-piece centercap / hub ring in there!

thanks holliday, im just going to fix my alignment though. and im going to be raising the car a little bit. we went on a canyon run and i was scraping everything, including "ant poop" as my fiance stated. i need to stiffen the coils up a bit and get some sways. i had some body roll. my front lip hit something as well and chipped the finish on it. it didnt crack the lip though thank god, just took the finish off which is fixable

haha ya those cow crossings suck. how much do you think we should raise it? maybe a bit lower than yours? i got the video, and its uploading. the video going up wasnt as good as the video coming down

SeeyaBud86 12-13-2010 12:16 PM

I was reading your guys discussion...

Am I going to have problems with these rims and my tires? I'm running a 255/40 up front. I got the same offsets and sizing as Ilive2win.

I might actually bring the front up on mine this week maybe about a quarter inch, I would suggest a 2 finger gap around all four corners, that's where my rear is at and my front is at about 1.5 fingers. Maybe just bring it up a little lower the Charles or right around there, it is beauty vs function and well you want to drive... Haha

Sounds good, looking forward to the videos in either direction... Haha!

you should be fine, it may rub a little if you are lowered a lot but you should be fine. what tires are you running?. i guess the nt05's run a little bit wider than others and im super low and it only rubs on canyon runs and lock to lock lol

phunk 12-13-2010 03:16 PM

i have 265 going up in front... better not rub!

ilive2win 12-13-2010 03:53 PM

what tires are you guys going to run?

SeeyaBud86 12-13-2010 05:57 PM

I got the Hankook V12s. 255 up front 285 in back.

ilive2win 12-13-2010 06:38 PM

you shouldnt have any problem running the v12's in that size. there should be no/minimum rubbing and wouldnt worry about it. im just rubbing because im so low, which i will be fixing this week

Well an opportunity presented itself and I can get a set by the end of this month! I don't want to wait haha...and I got lucky.

Thinking about getting the Shine Auto kit too. Sunline is too expensive for something I will scratch haha.

phunk 12-18-2010 12:09 AM

got my FRONT SLs today... waiting for my 19x11 rears still!

KaienZ34 12-18-2010 08:15 AM

What size rear tires you going with ?? Like a 315 or wider maybe ???

TypeOne 12-18-2010 08:49 AM

Nice car but man, the rear is hella sunk... for rims that $$$ I'd want them to fit perfect without spacers.

SeeyaBud86 12-18-2010 09:41 AM

Mine are on their way. I got a tracking number finally. Apparently they will be here the 24th. Great Xmas gift I guess
