Dealer paying to repaint wheels...thoughts?

So, my dealer has agreed to repaint the stock sport wheels after they damaged the finish while changing to the winter rims.

My question is: Do I have them repainted as stock, or do I modify the paint scheme a little while they are in being redone.

I have the Black Rose paint (Black Cherry in the US) and I was thinking of having them use the Black Rose as the base colour before they overspray the silver. At the same time, masking off the inside of the wheels behind the spokes when they spray the silvers so the inner wheel is Black Rose to match the car, but still silver on the outside of the wheel.

This will probably be an additional small charge to change the paint from a black base and to mask off the inside of the wheels during the silver spray, but I think it might be worth it.... what do you guys think??

EDIT: Added XAN's photochopped image of what I want....

I'd get them to match the 40th anniversary wheels we have in the US. Not sure if the Black Edition has the same color. The wheels in my sig are from the 40th anni image from the Nissan site. :)

uggghhh. I saw a Black Rose delivered to the dealer with 40th wheels on it by mistake. Looked terrible on the car! I like the 40th wheels, they just don't match with the Black Rose at all IMO...
Thanks for the input though!

Just painting the inside of the wheel is a waste of money, you'll hardly notice it.
(assuming you mean the real inside behind the spokes)

I thought it might be a subtle mod and it might make the silver overspray a slightly different tinge as well....

If you want a subtle hint of purple, just mix a tiny amount into the silver and hope it doesn't turn pink. :)

That would be ghey... lol

How about darker golden wheels?

wheee! 11-27-2010 08:12 PM

ooooooo 24k gold plated wheels!

reality check.... nope

I like the silver accents on the car too much to change the colour scheme that much.

You don't really have any options with that color. I mean, at this point, all you can do is have them repainted stock or call Martha Stewart and see what she has to say.

Martha said a darker gold/bronze, otherwise keep them silver.

Martha is just copying me...

Ok, how about this? (ruff turbo-shop)

Hey Xan, nice job! I thought of that too, but I wanted a more subtle look. What about the reverse of that with the step lip & inside still purple and the spokes & main lip silver?

Basically the step lip would be the only real clue to the inside colour till you looked closer...
