275 front tires - mixed opinions
I am being told that 275s will fit no problem in the front with proper offsets, and I am being told that 275s are not going to fit the front, regardless of offsets.
If you have 275 front tires, can you please tell me which tire and what your wheel width/offset is? My Wheels are: Volk TE37SL 19x9.5 +22 Volk TE37SL 19x11 +23 I would like to try the Nitto Invos: Front INVO; 275/35/19 Diameter 26.5" Rear INVO; 305/30/19 Diameter 26.2" The invos do come in a 265/30/19 for the front, but the diameter is probably too small, since its at 25.3", it would be throwing the size ratio off quite a bit and i would be worried about VDC issues. Thank you in advance for any input:hello: |
Im running 275's on the front with a 15mm spacer. Here's a pic of how it looked before I got my new wheels. Trust me, 275 in the front will work fine with the stock Rays, stock offset AND 15mm spacers. Ran it like that for about two months until I changed my wheels.

Actually i just posted a pic of guy who accidently had his 275 on the front. It was at a meet today I was wtf dude look at your tire.. he said he knows. I asked if he had any rubbing and he said no lol so i dont think theres a problem..

Those are the exact sizes I'm using on the stock sport wheels. The 275/35/19, looks like it belongs on the front and I'm using a 10mm spacer for that slightly tucked look.
Bridgestone RE050A: 305/30/19 5 mm spacer and 26.3 diameter 275/35/19 10 mm spacer and 26.5 diameter with a 4.08 tire shredding gear ratio  |

I run 275/30-18 R compounds on a 9.5 + 46 offset rim with no problems.

285/30/18 here

If your going to use Nismo rims, you should consider a 285/35/19 for the front as it's only a 26.9" rolling diameter and should fill the wheel well better. I only say that, without knowing how much drop you plan to do, which will dramatically change which tire size you can run. |
thanks, with the 275/35/19 and 15 mm spacer in front with a 3/4" wheel gap, that should be alright right? no rubbing. Planning to go low, but not extreme. Jsut trying to even out the look of the 305/30's in the rear without spending more money to change the tires in the front. Just switching the stock rear tires to the front.

Should be OK.

I'm running 275/30/20's up front on stock GT-R rims (9.5", +45).

Thanks guys! I apologize to the op, don't mean to thread jack, but I'm gangsta like that lol
|
this is all great info, changes my ideas a bit.
So what do you guys think its the perfect tire combination to run? 275/305? |
Say no to stagger

I sometimes run 285/305 hoosiers... which are effectively 295/315
no probs now mostly running 275 square setup my offsets are flush with fenders and no interior / exterior rub |
Im running 275/305 and I have had no problems. I ran the new Hankooks in those sizes on my stock Rays for about two months until I got my new wheels. I went with slightly wider wheels when I bought my TSW's, going to 9.5/10.5 which made the tires look even better, IMHO. Like I said earlier, I am running 15mm/20mm spacers as well and ran them on the stock Rays. You will have no issues at all unless you slam your car. I have not had a chance to lower mine yet and may not do so due to the local roads. I scrape a lot already.

I know someone running 305 square setup. He said he can run 305/345 no problem. I don't know if he had to mod the car to fit that rubber though.
|
Might not have to, but you have to see how big your rims are and the offset too.
|
Yeah you're fine, met a guy running 295 A6's up front with nothing and no problems for Autox

In fact, it'd probably be beneficial for everyone if the people that posted in here also posted up their widths/offset as well. Thanks in advance! |

Well... i have decided on going with the RE-11 tires but I have one problem here.
The 305/30/19 is my obvious choice for the rear... but they dont have a perfect matching front! The 305/30 is a 26.3" diameter tire. The stock tires are .3" taller in the front. RE11s come in a 275/30/19 which is 25.6" diameter. So its a shorter overall tire. I am afraid this could cause the VDC to freak out. Unfortunately they do not offer a 275/35/19. There IS a 285/35/19 which would work out to about .6" taller front, but I am worried that its getting to the point that the front will be noticeably taller and look funny, not to mention my concerns about that even fitting at all in the front being that wide and that tall. Has anyone run a 275/30/19 with a 305/30/19 and had or not had VDC issues? |
Same problem I ran into when I got new tires a while back...Michelin has a TON of sizes available for their PS2's ;)
|
i could see paying 360 each for the PS2 in the 275/35/19... but no way in hell i am going to pay 600 each for the 305/30/19... what a joke
|
hmmm maybe thats the answer... PS2 front and RE11 or R888 rear?

I ran Toyo 1R1's on the Volk rims, I have, before I switched the tires on the stock rims I have presently. I have 285/35/19 26.9" and 255/35/19 26.0" and the VDC nor do the anti-lock brakes freak out at all. I'm pleasantly surprised and compared to the 350Z, it's a miracle :icon17: I would like to see a set of 285/35/19 tires matched to a set of 305/30/19 on a 370Z and see how they look. The tire diameters look good and I would only be worried about fender clearance and how well it would fit the stock rims. |
you know what... im gonna just try the 285/35/19s... and if they look bad with the 305/30/19s or are too wide to fit my car with the 19x9.5 front wheels at +22, i will just keep them on the back of my stock sport wheels.

this is a terrible pain in the *** when they dont make tires in the sizes you need. |

Yes and the fact that the RE-11 don't come in the 275/35/19 sizing ... is a pain in da a**. That's why the 285/35/19 size has my interest and should fit on my 9.5" Volk rim. But I think I'll wait until my present tires wear out and I need new ones. Maybe by then they may have some nice drag radials and track wheels available in 19" sizes. |
I plan to run 285/35/19 F&R with the RE11 on stock wheels, my 265/285 setup plows way too much
|
i ordered the 275/30/19 front. the 285/35/19 tempted me... but its so much taller than the 305/30/19 i was too afraid that it would look goofy
|
BTW everyone, thanks for the info... my purchase was eventually completely based on comments to this thread and sharifs review of the RE11 where he was able to mention some comparisons to the R888, which is my main tire of choice when cost and wear is of no concern. I loved my R888s on my 350z... went from spinning thru 4th to hooking well in 2nd.
|
hey thanks for making the thread phunk, helped pu tmy mind at ease as i am doing 275/35/19 and 305/30/19 this week as well on Nismo rims with a drop. THANKS EVERYONE!
|
**update** with the mods mentioned above 275/35/19 on H&R springs do rub SLIGHTLY on the plastic liner. just thought i should let you guys know. If i had a chance to pick out a size i would consider 265/35/19.
