Volk GT-S Test Fit, what do you think ?

Here is a pic, what do you think ... Should I get them or not ? 19x9.5+17 19x10.5+18. front offset is very aggressive but doesn't rub. Tires are not ideal sizes right now, but will do temporarily

Rear Wheel offset tucked in but threw 8mm spacer a 5+3 bs spacer just to test fit, when I get them I will add a 10mm HR spacer... $1400 with tires from him

That's a good deal and all you need is a small spacer for the rear. Go for it!

chuckd05 08-25-2010 09:00 PM

as more Z's come to my area it would be nice to differentiate mine from the others... I am just nervous about the front offset being +17 on a 19x9.5 wheel...

What bugs me is MY LACK OF SPORT PACKAGE !!! Im so bummed about that, all though I have already purchased the VLSD and spoiler these wheels will make my next mod 10000% be the upgraded front akebonos followed by the rear... and prob also either coilovers or H&R springs.. which just equals $$$, with the stock wheels my car's stance is perfect with the 20mm front and 25mm rear spacers...

Im so torn, but the good thing is that 350z guys would eat these up on their forums so if i get them and change my mind I can recoop my money rather easily I would imagine.. But I do LOVE the lip and the price . These wheels arent too far off from the Spirits which would be my ideal wheel but the cost is obsiosly more than double this and the spirits would be 20s so I'd be shelling out 4k.

LMK your thoughs..

Also my tires will be smaller by 10mm front and rear once I put the NT05s on so the rear 10mm should fit easier.. Im hoping I dont have to add camber to make it work but I dont think I will have to.

Im talking as if I am getting them but I'm really like 60/40 towards getting them.

nogoodname 08-25-2010 09:05 PM

Are the rims 9.5 and 10.5?

I would get them if I were you, they look nice. You're also putting your tires on it anyways.

chuckd05 08-25-2010 09:07 PM

yea. 9.5 and 10.5 ... My front NT05's will prob look stretched since his 255/40's look stretched as well.. But that will change in time..

Red__Zed 08-25-2010 09:14 PM

If you don't buy them....please pass that deal on to me. I would jump on those in a heartbeat.

chuckd05 08-25-2010 09:39 PM

haha , thats funny, they would fit your 693hp "S2kripsy " very well just not sure of those offsets for you.. My buddies nickmaned my old s2k that haha... For that reason I will pick them up because it would be an easy flip if I decided not to keep them.

haha, the S is actually sold. Have a red Zed now:driving:

vividracing 08-25-2010 10:33 PM

that's a great deal! i'd get it :)

chuckd05 08-25-2010 10:58 PM

So essentially the 10mm spacer would make the rear +8 offset on a 19x10.5 which should Fit correct ? Appreciate the responses and help!

No...it won't fit. You're gonna need to send them to me!

:happydance:It should fit great!

chuckd05 08-25-2010 11:50 PM

I might take you up on that. I had been planning on keeping my stockers as winter rims though, so I need to think about it.

Waiz 08-26-2010 01:02 AM

Wheels look good but I would go 255-35-19 (F) & 285-35-19 (R) with the tires so that you don't have VDC issues while adding the 10mm spacer in the rear wheels.
40 series tires look weird on 19" wheels.

Great deal BTW, you're totally robbing the guy LOL

chuckd05 08-26-2010 01:20 AM

I know but Im growing more and more weary of the front offset though from reading on here though, 19x9.5+17

I am going with a 275/35/19 and 245/40/19 . The size and tires I have on my stock 19s, which is the stock sizes... maybe I mis typed something, let me check

he has 285/40/19 and 255/40/19s on them now on his 2006 350z and didnt have any vdc issues that I am aware of though so I dont know.

My buddy said he would buy my Eibach springs from me if I go with H&Rs , just saw Kevr's spirts are +15 offset and he has H&Rs with no issue, so I see light at the end of the money tunnel. Still would love to hear that its a good idea from one of the wheel dealers on here :-)

OMGWTFBBQ 08-26-2010 03:10 AM

I can see what you mean by wishing the front was a little lower. The first picture makes it look like your car has a reverse rake. :icon14:

Either way, that size/offset is really good for a Z and especially at that price, why wouldn't you do it? Haha you can always pick them up and roll on them for a while and when you get bored, flip it for some money.

Boost_lee 08-26-2010 03:20 AM

Do it for the price

with a spacer and H/R drop, they'd look great

chuckd05 08-26-2010 06:33 AM

A 10pm rear or 5 mm rear spacer ? Would +8 fit in the rear?

ClemsonWill 08-26-2010 07:20 AM

You should definitely jump on these. You can't beat that price. Like someone else said, you can always flip them if the fit doesn't work for you.

If you don't end up getting them tell your buddy to PM me. I will buy them.

Disregard my previous message, this tire setup is standard on the Nismo 370z so I'm sure it will be fine on your setup.

OMGWTFBBQ 08-26-2010 05:41 PM

Get the wheels and go with a 10mm spacer.

[/thread]

chuckd05 08-26-2010 09:36 PM

I put them one and a 10mm will make it sit perfect.. but the lips were a little stained from im guessing improper drying.. like white stain. Going to bring to my detailer to see what he thins, I have pics installed it looks great but with all things considered with swapping tpms, potentially getting the lip re finished, and swapping my tires it may end up costing close to what 19 in spirits could be from the quote I just got..

I will post pics on the car and of the rims tomorrow, as I am giong to help him sell them if I dont take them...

Also the front with his 255/35/19 on the front sit pretty much flush with the fender but on a hard accelerating uphill left or right the tire hits the wheel liner for a second. Cant see any marks on either and its very minor. If you feel the inner fender wall theres one spot where the plastic sits a little lower than every where else, Im guessing its hitting there..

with all things considered I am going to pass but they are definatly do able... If you get them re done they will be money with a 10mm rear spacer. pics soon with a 8mm rear spacer on.

NewlyIMPORTed 08-26-2010 11:20 PM

It's taller than the NISMO setup. NISMO is 285/35...

My original concern was with the rear profile being smaller than the front, the Nismo has the same setup so I edited my post.

Cmike2780 09-02-2010 08:57 PM

How much cash were thinking for the 18" stock wheels trade?

If it's 285/40/19, the tire is over an inch taller than stock.

Jeffblue 09-02-2010 11:07 PM

35 is the higher end of what people are running in the rear. its really 30 or 35

He said he was using 275/35/19 and 245/40/19, that's what I based it on.

BLUESLATE 09-03-2010 02:22 AM

If you don't get them, I'll take them and flip them. hahaha

kenchan 09-03-2010 10:29 AM

the front sticks out a bit for my taste but can be fixed with lowering and some camber.
the rear needs probably 10mm offset as mentioned earlier in the discussions.

otherwise i think it looks good! :)
