It's almost as sad as seeing the publicity on drifting and none on real racing, it grosses me out.

I hope to dominate both the car show and the track event ;)

It's almost like an oxymoron. The brake dust alone will drive the "judges" crazy. I had one of the fastest car (on track at the event), yet I had grass stuck all over the front valence as I took a trip on the grass.

You win a drift event by bringing a hot female slut along?

Here is a tip. Unless you have a really nice paying job, a sponsor or a sugar mommy, you will want to save money every way you can as everything is a money pit.

Here is a typical weekend

#1 Brake pads ($400 for about 4 events)
#2 Gas (3 tanks for the weekend)
#3 Hotel ($100)
#4 Entry fee ($400)
#5 Tires ($1200) can use maybe 5 events
#6 Rims ($1000) let's say you use it over 3 years.
#7 Food and other misc items ($100)
#8 Racing fluids

Optional are datalogger ($500), camera with mounts ($200), safety equipment ($500), timing equipment AMB ($300).

Without the cost of the car, it's easily a $10K per year hobby. I make okay money, but I always look for ways to save.

Here is the sad part.

I won some money at a track event a while back by getting the fastest time. Yet some avatard in a pimped out Lexus with a big stereo and bodykit got just as much in the car show portion.

so true! and after looking at R compounds in 18s and 19s, is why I decided to sell my 19s and keep my track day 18s instead.

cossie1600 08-19-2010 12:40 AM

I actually can find some Pilot Cup in 19s for a decent price, but my stockers already have the RE11 on it. I am going to stick to 18x9.5 for now. THe question is, how wide of a tire can I run with a 35mm offset.

Here is a picture of a ghetto 370

It might be ugly, but it can still keep pace with most cars.

What tires do you run by the way, Hoosiers I assume?

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, it looks like it's going to be a tight fit.
