Wheels(almost) Stolen

Well woke up this morning about 4:32am to my first floor neighbor knocking at the door that someone was doing something to my car. When she told me that I knew they were trying to steal my wheels from reading some of the horror stories from yzhang12 and Jeffblue. I woke up my dad and we went down stairs and my neighbors husband meet us down stairs and we went outside but the, would be robbers ran and left their equipment behind. All I saw that it was a couple. We did not chase after them since they took off running like the Flash. They left four cinder blocks and a Hydraulic jack behind.
I went to check on my wheels and some of the lug nuts were on the floor and the rest were all loose. I consider myself lucky. Now I am getting a viper alarm like Jeffblue recommended with the tilt sensor.

Now what to do with the jack and the cinder blocks....

Find a place to keep your car thats protected for the night, so they don't come back. Or just stay up all night waiting for them to come back. Get that alarm installed ASAP.

what a bunch of scumbags. i guess that's their idea of a saturday night for two.

Well I have touched it with my bare hands but like you said the police won't care. I am looking for a garge. Luckly someonme down street is offering a parking spot I going to how much a month.

:iagree:

Get a sticker for the car that says This Car Insured by Smith and Wesson.

If i was you, i'd get the proximity sensor as well. That way, if someone comes near your car, the alarm is gonna go off.

How much would all this cost?

+1 for a noisy neighbor! I'm glad I live in the country every time I see one of these stories. Quick question wheel locks or no wheel locks?

A couple trying to cop your wheels? That's one helluva cheap date on the guy's part!

Years ago, a friend of mine had a stereo stolen out of his car at work. He called the local police and made a phone report. That afternoon he was heading out and said he had to meet an officer at his car to get fingerprints. I told him he was wasting his time... They would never catch them... Well as it turned out, they caught the guy several weeks later and the prints that they pulled off of my friend's car helped in the conviction.

All I am saying is that it's worth your time to follow through. If they get caught down the street jacking someone else's wheels and their prints are all over your lug nuts...

370z street parked in brooklyn is a 100% sure way to have your wheels stolen lol.

did you have wheel locks by the way?

Jeffblue 08-09-2010 08:28 AM

Someone needs to buy his neighbor a little thank-you gift.

I hear cinderblocks wrap up real well. It would make an interesting paper weight?
