Yeah, I know. I'm a little "screwed" up in the head.

Nitrogen is really overrated:

Composition of Air

What you're actually paying for is the removal of 22% of the stuff you get FOR FREE in AIR. And most nitrogen I've worked with is normally only guaranteed to maybe 98%, and I'll bet it's a lot less for tire use. The GT-R has nitrogen for fear of heated tires oxidizing in racing. Unless you really race and heat your tires, you don't need nitrogen. And guess what, you get 78% of the stuff in your tires anyway!

As has been mentioned, dry air is probably better for your tires/worth the money more than anything else. But I understand it's hard to take a step back once you try the bells and whistles

I still can't believe my dealership adds $400 to the sticker of every vehicle for filling the tires with nitrogen. I got testy with them about it and they took it off (I accused them of snorting the stuff), but you know that for every customer like me, there's probably 10 who don't question it and just pay it. What a scam.

I'd think about flatting the tires just to piss them off at that point, but i couldn't do that to such a beautiful car. I love and hate car dealers, they're the of a dying breed of bells and whistles, wheel and deal, and so on in an age when we all do our own stocks and buy stuff on ebay and amazon. I think this is why I loved watching my dad buy our cars growing up, he knew it all and could stay controlled through it all. Funny how all our derogatory phrases for salesmen seem car oriented...

Well said!

Nitrogen is just the best way they've found to get you to pay for the air we breathe - and you don't even get the oxygen!
