I still like them for the money, and as long as I get track dedicated rims, I'll continue to get these for DD.
I know and understand where your coming from. Dedicated track rims and tires are the best combo and probably cost effective in the long run. For DD they are very good, but as you mentioned when getting serious they get soft and let go. What kind of mileage do you expect out of them?

I'm expecting around 20-25k, which I think is reasonable. Time will tell, but I'm not too worried about it given the costs.

I will be doing my first track event on them probably, so I'm sure that will eat into their life a good deal.
