I'm pretty sure the lack of usage on the rear is because of your alignment

Here is the inbound side of the same rear tire. Thoughts?

Are the RE11's available in 285/19 Inch? Can't find them on the Bridgestone or Tirerack site. Would be nice to go up one size from the stock 275's that look stretched.

Yeah, I could sworn there were a couple people running 265 in the front and 285 in the rear.... I'll try to find a link

Thanks guys, I guess I'll just have to call tire rack by the time I'm ready to buy.

Are you lowered? And they don't rub at all correct?

Zeester 01-17-2011 03:58 PM

Guys, help me out with my setup. I want to get these same tires in a 255/35/19 up front and 285/35/19s in the rear.

Is this a good combination or am I going to small in the fronts ?

SPOHN 01-17-2011 04:45 PM

I just ordered my RE-11's today. Hope to have installed on my new wheels this weekend. Look for my pics to come. My are also 265/35/19 & 305/30/19's.

Fronts okay you should go 265 but you definetly need more in rears.
atleast 295's
I wana get 305's

Zeester 01-19-2011 01:29 AM

The closest thing they got without going 305s is 285 according to tirerack.com

Would a 255 front and 285 rear plow too much ?

Looks like i might have to go with the 265/305 setup...

cossie1600 01-19-2011 07:52 PM

I am going with 285 all around next year. I had 265/285 last year, the car already plowed too much. I can't imagine even wider tires in the back.

I will sell you guys my 265 if you want it :)

Zeester 01-19-2011 11:02 PM

It only seems obvious that a 265/285 would plow less than 265/305 setup.

Hmm.. looks like i might just go with the 265/285

cossie1600 01-20-2011 12:35 AM

It's hard to see iin the video, but I fought harder and harder to get rid of the plow as my front tires got older YouTube - 370z autox

The back end don't really have traction issue unless I come off a slow corner where I lift the inner rear. I personally like the feel of the smaller tire, car just feels more tossable and easier to heat up

Zeester 01-20-2011 04:00 PM

Cossie1600... what sizes would you recommend i go with if i end up getting the RE11's ?

cossie1600 01-20-2011 04:11 PM

if you are a novice driver 265 35 19 and 285 35 19 are great as the speedo is nearly 100% accurate and has a nice understeer to save your butt, do prepare for it to get worse as front tires wear down. 37.5 front tire pressure and 39.5 rear yielded best result at track and the same 2 psi difference worked great at the track

i am going with 285 all around, 275 only comes in 30 profile if i recall correctly. i wouldnt mind 295 except i am not a big fan of pinching it on the 9" rim in the front. its great for autox, but i dont want to do that when i am commuting

CATCHINZZZS 01-24-2011 05:36 PM

I just want to understand correctly. Are you guys running stock suspenion with these setups and no spacers. Can I run 265 fronts and 285 rears with stock susp and no spacers. Or not recomended.

cossie1600 01-24-2011 07:16 PM

Yes, stock everything 265 35 19 F and 285 35 19 rear. Heck, my race rims have 285 on it

370z_2910 01-27-2011 11:35 PM

How about 265/40 front & 285/40 or 305/40 rear...

Making 40 series on both front & rear wheels...to reduce bumpy feel

Any comments..

cossie1600 01-27-2011 11:55 PM

Ride will be rough regardless, the bonus with the RE11 is that they are quieter and rides better than stock without the loss of steering feel (Hankook V12)

Chris_1 01-30-2011 12:09 PM

I put these next to the invos today, the compound feels so similar. I am going to have to test these 2 and see which is better

Cell 01-30-2011 02:32 PM

Why go from 285/35 to 305/30? Why not 305/35 and keep the side walls about the same height? Wouldn't going from 35 to 30 create a bigger gap between the wheel and fender line?

cossie1600 01-30-2011 07:01 PM

The INVO grip no where close to the RE11s, it's like comparing a 370Z to a Scion TC.

305/30/19 on the rear give you an error of 61.1 MPH when the stock wheels are 60 MPH. 265/35/19 give you an error of 60.9 MPH whereas the 275/35/19 gives you an error of 60.3MPH so the 265 are a closer match to the 305s...

The car is pushy though so I'd get as much as I could up front.... you'd have to check with the pro's to get the real world scoop. I think a few are recomending 285s on all four corners...

odie99 02-07-2011 11:25 PM

For the guys running 285 on stock sport 19s, did you have to run spacers at all? I'm currently running the Swift springs with stock sport wheels and tires, but they just break loose too easily. Anyone with this setup running a wide set of tires with no rubbing?

cossie1600 02-08-2011 12:06 PM

I have them in the rear, no rub

BLM 03-08-2011 05:33 AM

I know everyone is saying the 305's fit the rear without issues, but the specs list the tires width range from 10.5 to 11.5 and measures 11. Like someone said previously, what's the point of going so wide on the stock wheels if you cant utilize all the rubber?

cossie1600 03-08-2011 08:17 AM

to show off?

BLM 03-08-2011 08:24 AM

LOL well I hope not. Still not as bad as the FWD GTI guys who run staggered set-ups for "looks" and create even more understeer.

How? Stiffen your rear sway bar and go faster around the corners....

BLM 03-09-2011 09:23 AM

The minimum specified wheel width for a 305 tire is larger than the stock rear wheel (10 inches). How does going fast around corners fix this?

FricFrac 03-10-2011 12:16 PM

True the recomended is 10.5 inches but 10 is close enough to be safe and to work properly. My point however was that to take advanatge of the extra grip in the rear its as simple as stiffening the rear end or softening the front (eg make the rear "looser"). Don't forget you're also increasing the front from 255 to 275 as well. If you aren't adjusting your suspension 285 all around is a common setup.

SS_Firehawk 03-09-2013 04:47 PM

Bumping from the dead to give thanks. And I shall be using 305's for all the grip they are worth...

Marcusz 03-28-2013 09:58 PM

Why not go 265/30/19 on the front ?

SS_Firehawk 03-28-2013 10:00 PM

I am, I was referring to the rears. I'm anticipating loss of traction from FI.

Marcusz 03-28-2013 10:07 PM

Why most go whit 265/35/19 instead of 265/30/19 dont they make 30 s

SS_Firehawk 03-28-2013 10:21 PM

No they don't. 265/35/19 and 305/30/19 is preferred.
