Ichiba 20mm V2 Wheel Spacers with Built in Studs DO for the front

On here it seems like an urban legend has been created. Which is that you need to get v1 Stud Replacement Wheel Spacers for the front and that v2 with the built in studs do not work or fit...

That is incorrect... I just moved my 20mm Ichiba v2s that I had on my Rear to the front and they fit with no problem at all... This is with the OEM 19s.

I than replaced the rear spacers with 25mm Ichiba v2s and the outcome is perfect... Car sits flush in the front and the rear looks a bit meaner than before.

But the point of this thread is that, atleast with 20mm v2 Ichiba's in the front, the v2 with built in studs fits with no issues.

:happydance: :driving:

Pics please. I just ordered spacers. How do you tighten the front spacer nuts when the wheel spin? Thanks

pics will be up tonight.. You have to have someone step on the brake while you tighten them. The spacer nuts are a 19mm though, not the same as our stock lugs...

Its a simple cheap upgrade that does a lot to the appearance...

Good to hear that it works with the 20mm version. I tried with the 15mm and those definitely do not fit the front. I documented my attempt here: http://www.the370z.com/wheels-tires/...html#post28020

With the 20mm spacers, the stock studs stick out less owing to the thicker spacer, which in turn is why you can get the fronts mounted.

I didn't need someone to step on the brakes for me. All I did was tighten one lug nut back onto one of the studs. Then I took a torque wrench and put the socket end onto the lug nut while wedging the other end up against the inside of the wheel well. That prevented the wheel from spinning while I torqued down the other studs. (Of course, it helps to have multiple torque wrenches in your toolbox. If you only have one, then you might not be able to do it this way.)

man this was always a mod ive been jumping around but now... since it seems that you dont have to change the studs :D sounds like a easy mod im willing to do will it be ok for me to run 25mm in the rear and 20mm in the front like you guys? i dont have the 19's i only have the base 18''s wheels...

schrute 04-02-2010 11:42 AM

Simota, the offsets are a little different on the base 18's. I recommend 25 front and 20 rear, v2. That's what I use on my base 18's with winter tires and they fit great.

I plan to do the same but afraid of adding vibration to the wheels.
Please write up some impression of driving with the new spacers too.
Thank you in advance.

azn370z 04-02-2010 07:03 PM

I installed the 20mm ver 2 and no vibrations.

Simota, I should add that if you're lowered and have more negative camber than stock then you might go +5mm or so each on the spacers to keep it flush. Can't remember if you're lowered or not...

wheee! 04-02-2010 08:31 PM

Can you mount the spare tire properly?? No clearance issues with the studs???

azn370z 04-02-2010 08:33 PM

I'm pretty sure with 20mm spacers the spare will fit. I will test fit it when I change out my suspensions in a week.

chuckd05 04-02-2010 09:31 PM

Yea I am not sure about the spare either... sorry for no pictures yet. But it looks good and it fits :)

ahhh i see  yes i am lowered... so then ill order 30mm up front and 25mm in the rear correct?

schrute 04-02-2010 11:16 PM

Yeah that should do it

What size spacers should I get? I have stock suspension with stock springs.

wheee! 04-04-2010 10:27 AM

15mm front and 20mm rear

Note the post above you is lowered on Eibach springs. 15 and 20mm is probably safer.

azn370z 04-05-2010 12:55 PM

If he wants to use the ver 2 he needs 20mm unless he checks behind the wheel to see if 15mm ver 2 will fit.

oh thanks, maybe i will go 15mm in the front with v1, and 20mm rear. what's the difference between the v1 and v2 except one is easier to install.

V1 you'll have to knock out the stock wheel studs and replace them with extended ones. V2 comes with its own studs.

wheee! 04-06-2010 11:52 PM

I am going with V1 all around just to be safe! 15 and 20mm hopefully arriving this week!!

Any picture of your car with the spacers yet?
I plan to do the same and would love to see how yours look.

But... does anyone know if it's the same for the H&R spacers??

I'm planning to do 20/20 and if the bolt ons will fit without needing the extended stud replacements, then it'd make this mod a lot easier and cheaper!

Anyone?

Midnight Run 04-09-2010 04:46 AM

can you please post some pix? i want to do this when i get my 370z :D

wheee! 04-10-2010 03:19 PM

15mm and 20mm stud replacements done.

rear DIY posted here.

RedBullRR 04-21-2011 02:28 PM

Bump from the dead. Would like to see some pics and combos here.

Looking at 20 front 25 rear and 15 20

I will be lowering my car, and trying to get alignment as close stock with lil camber as possible.

AlphaSnacks 04-21-2011 02:44 PM

So to clarify, 15MM with built-in studs will not fit because OEM 19s do not have indents behind the wheel for the excess stud-poke to fit into? But 20mm will fit flush?

kenchan 04-21-2011 03:17 PM

20 will not fit either on the front unless you grind the back of the wheel disc a tad in the recessed area.

AlphaSnacks 04-21-2011 03:56 PM

Chuck claims they do. So what gives?

kenchan 04-21-2011 04:01 PM

he probably forced his wheel onto the stock stud by torquing down the lugs....maybe even used an impact gun so didn't feel it while torquing it lightly.

it's only like 2mm that the stock stud hits the back side of the wheel.

azn370z 04-21-2011 04:19 PM

The bolts will make contact but only a corner of the bolts will make contact with the wheel, not the entire top of the bolt. I didn't notice vibration. But after about 3k miles I dremeled the back of the wheel, took about a minute per hole. If you have a dremel its easy to do.

chuckd05 04-21-2011 11:52 PM

I never noticed any contact ??? Rode perfect. Interesting. I had oem 19s on with them too.

RedBullRR 04-22-2011 08:13 AM

I'd really like to see a pic of the Z dropped with 20*25 combo and 15*20 combo. I'm ready to pull the trigger, but want the more aggressive look just don't want to compromise rubbage.

I suppose its possible that your studs are slightly shorter. We're only talking like 1.5mm-2mm max clearance issue so not even half turn on the thread. :)
