What tires do you like?

Noticed that several reviews - C/D mag, others talk about road noise that may be related to the tires. The original tires probably won't last long with a treadwear = 140. What is your experience with other tires? What tires do you have in mind for your first replacement?

I like Nitto tires. I use the 555 Extremes for all-season, the NT-01s for autocross, and the 555 DRs for drag racing. NT-05s are a good all around all-season tire too.

I ride on KDW2's and love them :o

Crash 01-23-2009 10:41 PM

Yeah. I used to use KDWs... Good tires, but not worth the money, IMO. Although, if I had the money to blow away tires as fast as I do and then use those as replacements every time, that's what I'd do.

Eh idk. They are quite noisy but I feel they grip just fine. On top of that the treadwear is amazing and they work well in the rain. Only thing is that under 40-50 degress they wont warm up and you will start to loose traction.

Crash 01-23-2009 10:46 PM

^^^ Never experienced that, but I also live in Los Angeles.

blue660r01 01-23-2009 10:48 PM

Yeah I drove them in snow BIG mistake I was drifting up the Bronx streets cuz they packed up and turned to slicks haha

Crash 01-23-2009 10:50 PM

LOL! Yeah, I think the KDW's were bad for snow, but the KDWS's had better snow traction.

semtex 01-24-2009 04:18 PM

I had Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's on my 350. 245 in the front, 275 in the rear. Loved them.

AK370Z 01-24-2009 04:23 PM

I currently have Falkens. In rain, they are pretty bad. But not too bad in dry weather.

you da man :driving:

couldn't have said it better myself, although i would like to agree with Semtex and add Michelin PS2 for street

sensi09 01-24-2009 07:11 PM

For street, I like the Bridgestone RE050A pole positions or PS2s if you want to spend a little more. However for my next tire, I want to try out the Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics.

RCZ listed some very nice tires, but most have limited sizes with no offerings in 19s.

smurfblu13 01-24-2009 07:15 PM

If money is no option PS2's are one of the best tires in my opinion. Eagle 1's aren't too bad either. I've had a few sets of the Yokohama's on a Mustang and always liked them, but the wear is pretty quick with them.
