Default Tire dimensions

hey guys,

New member here, bought the wife a 2012 Touring with sport package and going to have to by new tires fairly soon and wanted to run something by the forum. Has anyone ever ran tires like a 275/45r19 instead of a 275/35r19 on the rear. My thought was to give the tire a little more sidewall for a possibly smoother ride. I know its a sports car so ride quality might not be the greatest. It was just a thought and wanted to ask people have been around the car longer than I have. TIA

The car requires matched diameters front to rear to within 2-3% or the electronic nannies will go off their tiny collective brains.

If you go to 275/45R19 your OD will go from 675mm to 730mm and that is way outside tolerance. The car will also ride 25-30mm taller at the rear which will affect handling

I personally would not do it

you could go 245/45/19 & 275/40/19 to increase the sidewall f&r, if that's what you're after. Those sizes have virtually the same diameter & circumference.
