370z tire fitment

I have a base 370z with the 18" wheels. I contacted tirerack seeing if I could fit 265 or 275 on the rear wheels but they're saying they haven't approved any wider tire for fitment on the stock wheels yet. Has anyone done this yet?

You can fit up to a 275/40 on the rear if it is a 9" rim. There are no clearance issues.

Tirerack told me there might be rubbing issues with 265/275 rear. Are they just being extremely safe when reccomending tire fitments or might there be an issue?

I just did fitments on the new robispec 370z on the rear I can get a 12" wide wheel (with 315 tires) the offset would be around 25 (the shop car has 10.5" wheels with the effective offset of +13 this leaves no room on the outside but 2"+ clearance on the shock (not coilover spring as the car has a race spring conversion in the stock spring location). If you went to coilovers you would lose 1" of this available width due to the spring raped around the damper. on the front the 10.5" wheel fits fine with an offset of around +30-25. The robispec Z will end up with a "square" setup of 10.5 +38's all around running 285/30/18 tires. with ZERO clearance issues..imo the only thing limiting the tire width up to 315's is the rim...as always ymmv..

Believe me there is absolutely no chance of rubbing with the stock wheels. You have to go to at least a 12" wheel and totally mess up the offset calculation for that to happen. I have 275 front and a 305 rear on the sport wheels and you can practically make a fist in the gap.

Well said Robi. Are you going with 285's all around because of the limits on the class or some other reason?

I bought 245/45-18 & 275/40-18 tires for the base rims. Hoping to mount them this coming week. I'll update you on fitment when they are mounted.

class and HP limits...the 370's forward weight bias almost requires a "square" setup imo...

I was looking into sumitomo 265s from an e92 m3 fitment. Wat were u looking into doing

Hey guys I need a little help. I'm trying to have all 4 rims the same size 19 x 10" Rays Eng. Will there be a problem with the offset if I do that ? I've heard somebody said it might oversteer. what do you guys think ? And if it's ok what size tire do you guys recommend for front and rear or should I keep the same tire size all around ?( 275 x 35 x 19 ) Thanks in advance.

I have 9.5 inch and 10.5 in the front and rear respectively. I run 275 on the front and 315 on the rear and have no issues at all. Except i have 20's and a 315/35r20 is a big tire and it comes closer to the fenders/wheel wells in the back than I like it to but functionality wise it works great.

I got a set of 225/40R18 and 255/35R18 sitting in the garage. Will these fit/work on the base rims?

Will they physically fit? Yes. But they are 2 sizes too small in diameter and will not be a good fit in terms of rotational speed.
