Pick my rim color for me [NISMO]
 

Hey guys, I wanna get rid of the stock look color of my NISMO wheels, and I am going to get them powdercoated. The guy that does the work for me uses this website

I'm not sure whate color I want to do on the car, it's a platinum graphite car, so I was thinking maybe a dark silver color, but I've even played with ideas like using a crimson dark red, a black chrome, or something else. Do me a favor, and look around the website, and give me your opinion on what coating you think would look good. I would do POWDER BY COLOR on the left menu, and work your way down to the coating you think is best. Thanks for the input!

I vote candy red on the entire inside section of the wheel, with the solar rain as the face. Gives a subtle hint of something hot behind the wheels :)

Keep it dark on that color.

Definitely stay away from that red!

I've decided I want to do something as close as possible to the GT-R wheel color
now I just gotta figure out what that is....

I am getting my wheels powder coated that same black chrome, I think it would look great on your car.

the problem with black chrome is that it can sometimes come off as gray and that will clash with the car... darker is better on PG!

Try Tiger Drylac's Argento 314 Metallic. I did some GTR exhaust tips in this color and it was about a perfect match.

Sorry, you already told me how much you charge, but the deciding factor is that you "hate wheels" and the shipping costs. Lol. Thanks for the advice on color though!!

no prob. I do hate wheels, but things are a bit slow right now. Plus, I hate to do colors that need a clearcoat. Make sure whatever color you go with gets a clearcoat if its needed.

I don't know, I think if you are powder coating, it would look awesome if you got the wheels as close to the color of the car as possible. On my previous car, which was pewter gray, I went with the gunmetal colored Gram Lights and they were almost exactly the same color as the car.

A lot of people do black, bronze, gold and what-not on gray cars. I think gray/gray looks sick, and not a lot of people do it.

I would go with either the Black Mirror, or something similar to the GT-R rim colors. I would also think about maybe painting a few small interior pieces to match whatever color you decide for your rims. I think that would make a nice color scheme.

Im am new to this site but, I plan on getting my stock 18'' g35 rims powder coated next week and i was looking to get a really dark gray almost black color similar to the gtr wheels because my car is DG which is a really dark silver color.... and even though it was very difficult to pick from the small a** sample color sheets in the shop. I picked the Tiger Drylac 38/90018 Argento 314 metallic.

Even though it looked a bit dark on the color board the guy told me when its on the wheels it will look a little lighter.......

So i guess im asking you MIke did i make the right choice??

I'll prob get killed for it, but in all honesty I enjoy seeing bold colors on rims. Like the Porsche GT3, with either orange, red or green rims. That is if you have the balls to do it, I did not.

Safer route, I'd go with that gunmetal color Minicobra has on his Nismo wheels.

post em up when you do choose. I have a PG and I am still stuck between gloss and flat black on mine. Yay test subject thats not me. I cant decide but it would be an exspensive mistake to make.

i was going to go with flat black but then i saw that deep deep smoke color on the gtr wheels... it was just hard to find a powder to match... but as soon as i got home from selecting the Argento 314 metallic at the shop as being the closest match. i got on this forum and saw that Mike who does powder coating said that its pretty close just confirmed my choice!!!!

Bee-R or LMGT4. Most like LMGT4. Sizing sucks for Z34.

I vote black chrome, and I have been told I have good taste.

Def go with the Black Chrome, Clean finish is the way to go for sure..
