unless something changed, tire width is measured in mm..

and 8.5" width wheels belong on sedans..

You don't want 8.5" wide wheels

Like Kenchan said, 8.5" wheels are for sedans. The base wheels for the Z are pretty weak, frankly. Get some sport package Rays for a much better upgrade (I currently see a set for sale on this forum in CA for $700 for local sale).

For some reason? You bought them, didn't you? You could have bought them in different sizes

Are you asking if the stock base tires will fit on 8.5/9.5 set of wheels? If so, then yes. If the tires are not stock sizes (but fit on base wheels), they should likely still fit, but you probably want to go ahead and post the actual size of the tires you're trying to fit on your wheels.

Tires are not sized based on the wheel widths they fit. Tire sizes are formatted as follows: Width (of the tire itself - measured in mm)/Profile (ratio of sidewall height to tire width)/Size (diameter of the wheel - measured in inches). You can find this information directly on the sidewall of the tire.
