17" wheels for winter

New to the forum.

It's starting to get cold here in Canada, so I'm looking to buy winter wheels/tires. I noticed that almost nobody runs 17" wheels on a 370z. My question is would 17" wheels fit on a 370z? Or even if they did, would they look really awkward and small? 18" winters are so expensive!

(P.S. I have base '16 370z)

You can run 17's if they will fit, but you'll have to find a shop that will help you find something that fits.

Hi free70. Have you ever considered just getting a winter beater? That way, you can save your Z from the road salt and winter conditions that we face up here in the great white north. Plus you can just place fire and theft insurance on your Z and save a few more $$$.

I have a set of 17's with Michelin Pilot Alpin 3's (staggered sizes) i ran on my G35 Coupe w/ sport pkg that I'm actually looking to get rid of... (3/4 of the tread left)

But yeah, it's definitely possible to run 17's on your setup... I will say that compared to the stock 19" Rays, they did look kinda small but they had that meaty, ready-for-winter look with the taller rubber! I had no issues driving it through the CNY winters either...

This is the route I've taken with the NISMO... just can't even think about driving her through these winters!

Daily's and Winter Beaters are gifts from God. On my 2nd windshield this year on the daily. The first one they replaced the guy noticed a little bit of rust building up under the seal because the guy before him installed it wrong. So he asked me if I wanted him to grind it down, I said sure and went back to my desk. Few minutes later he was at my desk again saying "I need to show you something". Turns out the grinder got away from him and the next thing I know I am filing a claim and scheduling someone to come out and airbrush the roof of my car. Had that been my pride and joy, I would have lost my mind. Everything happens to my daily and it's genuinely nice not to care.

I have a 370Z for a winter beater...

I'm not going to put the car in storage for a 1/3rd of the year so I can drive around a POS. When I can afford a decent 2nd car, something like my brothers 06 Legacy GT, then I'll pick up a winter car. For now, the Z gets 18's and Blizzaks and the car handles winter fine. Check the classifieds as I've seen a few winter setups recently for sale.

i am also interested in this. i know 17's get a bad name on this site ( i want for track use ). What specs are the wheels you are using for winter? extra credit points for pics

I agree with the other guys about buying my car and planning to use it as much as I can . Not interested in getting a winter beater.

I thought of getting the 17's just because it'd be the cheapest and simplest option (was even thinking of using steelies but not sure if that would be an insult to the car )

Otherwise I'd be looking to get another set 18" alloys + new winter rubber (roughly twice as expensive as going 17's based on my quotes).

The other option I'm considering is getting new square winter tires on the stock rims, and then buying a set of new 19's in the summer...

Thoughts?

If you can afford, run the stock 18's for winter with winter rubber of course, then go to a 20 for summer, they will be cheaper then a 19"...

Personally I've been running a 350Z 18 for winter and the stock 19's for summer. But if you are starting from nothing for summers, 20's are the way to go, cost wise.

Where are you in Canada? the other thing that is a must is a clear bra, do the front everywhere you can and the side skirts.

Will the TR Motorsport C2 rims fit a 2013 370z with sport brakes? I know the 2012 and down models it will. I am just not sure if they changed anything with the size of the sport brakes in the 2013 and up models. I really want to order that set soon since winter is here and i am testing fate driving on my summer tires still. If they do then i already know what tires I'm going to get. Thanks for anyone that confirm this quick question.

What size? worst case you could add a spacer, if you stay under a 8-8.5 rear...
