I installed the exhaust, and decided to leave the intake and hi-flow cat for another day

IMWEZL 09-06-2009 01:18 AM

I saw someone with a Silver 370Z by the NEX. I was like "Hey, I have a red one" and then proceeded to spend the rest of my day stuck in traffic.

thispecialk 09-06-2009 02:03 AM

Yep that was me! I had just finished returning $30+ in cans and bottles. It took me about an hour to turn all that stuff in and then there was the fire that closed H2.

Romanowski 09-07-2009 01:55 AM

Well I took some time and installed the Stillen CAI. Check out the pics!

Yep, stuck in traffic on Kam Highway. Took me an hour from stadium to Best Buy!

Graybullet 09-07-2009 02:25 AM

"Well I took some time and installed the Stillen CAI. Check out the pics!"

Nicely done! How difficult was this? What about the exhaust?

Romanowski 09-07-2009 02:28 AM

I did the exhaust but not the high flow cats on Saturday.
The sound and throttle response time thusfar is amazing

The CAI install wasn't that hard. It took me a few hours, and I was drastically taking my time and drinking beer

thispecialk 09-07-2009 06:51 AM

mayn it so hard to find a used car for a decent price everyone on the island is greedy and asking over bluebook value by like 3-4 thousand over. i need to get my wife a car soon so she can get back to work lol

thispecialk 09-07-2009 06:52 AM

stillen needs to hurry up on getting there stuff carb approve so i can get the intake already

thispecialk 09-07-2009 07:26 AM

if anyone knows anybody selling a g35 or 350z for the right price pm me

thispecialk 09-07-2009 07:27 AM

hey so is there any raddling on the intake did u get it to fit perfect

g96818 09-07-2009 12:33 PM

i dont think carb is an issue with intakes it's hfc that have carb issues is california.
the cost of used cars is on the rise so good luck. u tried craigslist? why not a g37?

IMWEZL 09-07-2009 02:07 PM

Special K...Infinity of HNL was having a tough time selling their cars (used and new). Before I bought my Z I was low balling the hell out them and they were game with it. (Then I saw Z and fell in love). I have some Autocross friends that were selling their 07 G35 sedan, but that was almost a year ago and I don't know if they sold it or not.

Oh I don't want to do any mods but the itch is there. I really like the Stilllen Gen 3 intake along with the complete exhaust. Hopefully, we can all meet up one day so I can hear how you guys' mods sound.

One thing I don't want to lose is the "live-ability" of the Z. My previous car was an SRT4 that I want all out on with a big turbo kit, 3" Turbo-back exhaust and plenty of other supporting mods. That car was pretty much like driving a race car with a full interior.

At this age (30-31 but feeling closer to mid 40s) I just want to enjoy the car with a decent bump in performance/power.

thispecialk 09-07-2009 08:25 PM

yea i tried craiglist everyones greedy and some of the ppl still have lean holder has anyone bought a car with a lean holder on it. im scared if i buy a car with lean holder there not gonna release the title after i pay them and there gonna try and report the car stollen or just run away with my money

thispecialk 09-07-2009 10:26 PM

hey did u ever get ur bumper painted? i think i found a g35 i can buy but it needs a new paint job it has alot of scratches. how much would it cost to get a full body paint job done at the place u went to

Graybullet 09-08-2009 01:17 AM

Anyone know where how I can remove the safety sticker without messing up my bumper? I don't if the sticker falls apart, I'll pay to get another one...someone was telling me to use razor blade!?!? Hell NO!

Also, where can I buy those bracket that extends from your license plate (not the one under the bumper) for safety check.. thanks!!

IMWEZL 09-08-2009 02:05 AM

You can get the safety plate at razor concepts at the mall by Aiea (which one I don't know because there are two malls right next to each other)...it's the one with the city satellite office.

To take off the safety sticker use a hair dryer to heat it up. It might have some adhesive still so I recommend finding a decent body shop that can remove the residue without marring the surface. Probably shouldn't cost more than $50.

Yeah I had my rear bumper painted after my neighbor ran into it. The guy who painted it passed away recently from a heart attack. Either way he sucked and now I have a little bit of overspray. Can't really tell a dead person to fix it.

Also you can get in contact with the actual lean holder send the payment directly to them and the title will be returned to you in your name.

Romanowski 09-08-2009 02:14 AM

SpecK- I had my rear bumper fixed to. Luckily, he asked me if I wanted a Inspection Decal relocate. I bought my decal relocator from Razor Concepts @ the PearlRidge Mall. $13 I think

Romanowski 09-08-2009 02:17 AM

Special K - Call Joel from JNL Autobody works. His work is amazing and the service is great. His shop is right off Sand Island Access Road

Tell him "Will" sent you (The guy with the 370z & the RSX Type-S) He should take care of you.

cool does he do door ding repairs also. i saw a g35 for 17k thought maybe if i get it i can get a whole new paintjob done to it theres a few scratches and dents and door dings. also on craiglist i saw a g35 with the gtr body kit tell me ur opinion on it. im also looking at the convertable pearlwhite 350z listed on there. my wife needs a car fast so she can get back to work

Romanowski 09-08-2009 10:46 AM

g96818- The fitment was okay. I think my cables are not zip tied to the support structure anymore. They couldn't reach around the filters. I don't feel any excessive vibrations though

Spec-K- He does all body work. So he will fix dings and stuff if you ask him.

i had to unzip mines too and run them behind the filters. but my filter is rubbing against the bolt holding the horn and the opposite bolt holding the japanese horn? now i gotta buy the cone shape filters cuz these suck. doeesn't feel any better performance wise, but maybe thats cuz i still have the stock cats on and didn't change those yet.

Romanowski 09-08-2009 03:56 PM

I did the exhaust and intakes. I decided to do the high flow cats another day. I wanted to see if there was a high comparison before and after the high flow cats

thispecialk 09-09-2009 12:10 AM

Who drives pg 370 on schofield I was driving behind u in the police trunk. I went to food court whoever it was broke right went to comisary

thispecialk 09-09-2009 12:15 AM

Mayn I can't get my intake yet none are carb approve yet. I head to Cali in feb this is gonna suck only thing good is lots of tracks of there

IMWEZL 09-09-2009 01:04 AM

I think if you still have out of state registration/plates you'll be good. One of my buddies has fully worked '96 240 and there is no way that car is CARB let alone street legal after all the parts and work he put into it.
