Sounds like you are style guy....nothing wrong with that! You should spend some time though learning about 370zs. They are some general tendencies that most of the Zees share but each one has it's nuances!

First off if you want more performance out of your non-aspirated car...get rid of the throttle lag which is common to many 370z, then you will need a tune. Bolt on such as the long tube intakes that have been mentioned and a more open exhaust may actually cause the response to be worse. It may not but some ecu's have a harder time adjusting to the increase air flow.

You don't have to go to Cali for a tune if you go with a tuning package like ecuTek. You can read about it in the Tuning section. I would also call Sebastian at SpecialtyZ and talk with him about your goals. He is a no nonsense tuner and will give you sound advice.

If you decide on long tube intakes, they are more difficult to service than short tube versions or silicone intake manifold tubes. In order to service the filters on long tubes, the front bumper has to be removed. Short tubes or silicone tubes are really no different than oems to service. The difference in performance between the two are nominal, 5 to 10whp max. The cost is also less for short tubes or silicone tubes by as much as $100.

You can also save some coin if you are only looking for an aggressive exhaust note by purchasing an axel back system such as AAM short tails. This system will not provide any real performance gains, but they sound awesome.

There is a ton of information on all these setups in the exhaust and tuning sections, just google it! It's easier to search that way at times.

Anyway, that is my two cents...I hope it helps. Also, with some these thing I'm sure you can find someone on here to help you with them.

Good luck...:tiphat:

Exhaust= Fast Intentions or motordyne (gt haus + mid y pipe motordyne)
Oil cooler = stillen or z1 24 row or better (z1 24 row )
Intake any long tube= stillen, aam, takeda (short intake)

I'm not an engine guy so I may has spelled the intake names wrong

what do you think?

reeps 12-28-2014 02:08 PM

Personally I'm in love with the motordyne. I've only heard it on videos but it sounds amazing. If you get it we must meet up..

I think you should think about going short intakes just so you don't have to take the front bumper off all the time.. something to think about..

Prepare for a wait on the Meisterschaft. Just called for another customer and they are 4-6 weeks out on the GTS system, 6-8 on Titanium.

All of the above. The GTS is the Stainless Steel exhaust and if whether you order the Axleback or full system with Connecting Pipes and Y Pipes it's 4-6 weeks. Titanium or GTC exhaust is the same story only a longer wait of 6-8 weeks.

ivan_star 01-02-2015 11:05 PM

I was told about ARK exhaust... anyone know about those?

whats the difference between stainless and titanium?

SS_Firehawk 01-03-2015 11:11 PM

Ark is decent. Titanium is $$$, but light. It sounds different too. It tends to have a higher pitch

JENZ 01-09-2015 12:42 AM

I did it. I signed on the dotted line. Parts coming off the z this weekend. You all have first dibs.

John if you're looking for exhaust I've got the fast intentions cat less test pipes, and CBE with integrated high flow cats 18" resonators and carbon fiber mufflers. Sounds amazing. And will be for sale after the tear down this weekend.

There is a bolt you unscrew underneath the duct. There are two screws right next to each other, one is holding the duct. Once its out, just push the tab and pull out the air duct.

Not quiet only because I am running test pipes with no resonators in front of the CBE. $1250 for the exhaust. $250 for the test pipes. The exhaust was a one off Tony did specifically for Mile Bonani as a partial sponsorship. Worth at least $1900 or more new because of the integrated high flow cats. It has the 18" resonators and carbon fiber mufflers.

Not yet but found a dealership to give me decent credit for our trades. Getting Ryan a bike and me a car so we can get one step closer to a house.

Jen I didn't think you exhaust was too loud.. sounded amazing to me.

SS_Firehawk 01-10-2015 03:41 PM

Hey Jen, my RRP is selling. I can give you a hefty $1k down payment on the exhaust if my wife let's me. I can't do the TP's for $250 tho, she might murder me for asking.

reeps 01-10-2015 03:42 PM

I hate you eddie

JENZ 01-10-2015 03:52 PM

Sweet Eddie but you will need them unless you have headers because it has integrated cats

I know :( I'll trade tail lights tho. Idk how the fronts with the red would look on my car. Do they fog up?

JENZ 01-10-2015 06:22 PM

The passenger side has a micro crack that only gets moisture in when you go through high pressure car washes but not if you hand wash and not in the rain. Paint has chipped a little at the very bottom but isn't visible because we sprayed a straight vht line on the glass.

JENZ 01-10-2015 06:23 PM

Want to come by tomorrow to at least trade tails?

I have drill this weekend. I'm only available in the evenings.

JENZ 01-10-2015 06:57 PM

Exhaust is off. Pretty much all but the roll bar, double din, front carbon upper trim, and oil cooler is off the car. I prefer to sell local. Would offer small discount for local buyer.
