MAC Autosport back in the day before they moved and we were drifitng up in Greely. I bought majority of my parts for my 240 from them. Several of my friends started complaining about their prices. I stopped going there one because I was deployed and two because of their prices, I paid a hundred over the cheapest price I found for an LSD but Skippy put the LSD in for free. I'm waiting for someone here in the Springs to step up so I don't have to goto Denver.

Great drive guys I look forward to seeing some pictures.

SurfDogs Radar Jammer worked like magic today and disrupted a radar gun on a on-coming trooper today heading back from central city...we all were 35 over, lights came on but gave us a slowdown signal and lets us continue!!! Freebie from Surfdog...and the fact we were in a group with sweet looking Nissan Z's helped too!!

Time for us to start putting together an Autocross event.

(Don't worry Shadeez I'll bring you some bumper tape)

Personally I think in keeping with my current build philosophy, I'll just add about two pounds of plastidip to shrug off the dings! (also, I'm jealous of Jskracht's sweet black out fangs...)

Here is also the info on High Plains Race way!! Open track days are on Fridays this month, but the Z Car Club of Colorado is hosting a Saturday event if we all were to become members before we might be able to join. This would also be a fun day if we all could make it.

For an autocross event we would need to find a parking lot that the owner will let us use it? What's the legality of something like that?

I would think if we can find a private space to use with owner consent, we should be good to go. We just need a ton of cones (I have about a dozen small ones)

does anybody know of someone with about a baseball field worth of pavement?

This one is my favorite!

SurfDog 09-01-2013 10:05 PM

I've decided to pony up the $150.00, and lap high plains raceway this Friday!

Lets get a crew together and run it together!

Cmon Luke! I dont think you'll ding up your paint at all! just run 80% and get a feel for your car in some real max g turns!!! We just need to bring a helmet and a jug of gas so we don't fuel starve in the right handlers! ( top off fuel every pit)

I'm swapping into my race shoes tomorrow to be ready! (What's left of my OEM's)

SurfDog 09-01-2013 10:07 PM

Im going to do some turns tonight on fora Motorsport to get ready. (Ive got a sweet force feedback wheel and pedals)

You guys should come over sometime and ill turn you loose on my race simulator (Xbox lol)

Shadezz 09-02-2013 10:12 AM

Okay...I think I'm in for Friday dude!!! I also love forza via Xbox....really I cant wait for the New Forza 5 coming to Xbox 1 very soon!!!

jskracht 09-02-2013 12:47 PM

I can't do this friday... :shakes head: but I'm sure I'll be able to go out to the track with you guys sometime here! Especially since it seems I have an oil cooler?.... At least that looks like the one Surfdog showed me on his Z.

But according to what I can see on the forums thats a Power Steering Cooler?

Awesome Luke! I *might* throw my Z up on a trailer in case its undrivable (due to shredded tires) on the way home!

My trailer (my buddy says I can borrow it) has plenty of room for your spares and gas can too, if you want to roll out together, or if your car goes lame we can pull yours up on to haul home instead! I don't think we can fit two cars...

lets put together a gear list and track day plan Here:

look where your oil filter screws in. if you have an oil cooler, two oil lines will run from right where your filter screws on out front to a heat exchanger (radiator grill like in your picture). the picture you showed does not look like an oil cooler because it does not look like oil lines coming into the radiator

Yeah...that's not an oil cooler my friend. This Friday will overall make my decision on going oil cooler or new larger radiator....even though I need booth people say just the larger radiator makes a world of difference, but so does the oil coolers. My 12 has the half *** oil cooler which is really no cooler. My temps have never gotten over 240.....but I'll see at the track this Friday.

Shadezz isn't a new radiator more expensive than an aftermarket oil cooler?

I know some guys put in new radiators to lose weight up front where it counts (we are nose heavy and our stock radiator is very heavy apparently). people also swap out for lighter batteries. (moving them back adds cable weight and is a wash on weight.)

But you are right a new radiator will not help oil temps at all, just water temps which I do not believe to be problematic in the 370. We all need oil coolers to avoid 'limp mode" for serious driving. (especially up here in the thin air which provides less convective cooling)

p.s. I hope I don't come off sounding like I think I know anything about our cars or racing, I'm just a forum troll when I get bored.

SurfDog 09-03-2013 10:47 AM

pps. My favorite mods to date are (in order):

#1 Tune (it is absolutely necessary if you have breathing mods or they cause you to run lean, and you dont get maximum hp gains for all your trouble putting them in)

#2 Radar detector (is that a mod? I dunno) Saved us some hassles in blackhawk I'd say...

#3 or 4 (these two are close) Clutch! (I hated the feel of the old one)

#4 or 3 Berk exhaust/HFC's (am I faster? who knows but I picked up 30 hp on the dyno... And the sweet music, ooh the sweet sweet music!)

#5 Limited slip diff!!!! (Now I can drift like a pro and with confidence. our stock sport VLSD is terrible, or at least very weak.)

Ive done a bunch of other things like dynamat and tint and lightweight flywheel and aftermarket CMC. all that is fine (and somewhat recommended) but did not really change my driving experience much.

Notice the Oil cooler never made my (must do) list. I really don't think you need one unless you start hitting limp mode. sure the oil gets hot, but until you approach 260, who cares? I'm not really a racer and could always back off a bit if I get hot. on the other hand its a pretty easy DIY mod, and not very expensive, so... I think I just did mine to finish off what Nissan started for could be a pretty cool track car.

another mod I'm considering for the same reason (i.e. finishing what Nissan started) is the fuel system mod that prevents fuel starvation in sustained right hand turns. (again probably only really needed for the track, and a more elegant, less expensive, and visually OEM fix to the problem then a true racing fuel cell) I have yet to flame out in a right hand turn and I spin some of them pretty aggressively. (I do admit to glancing at my fuel gauge before I start a tight right hander and wondering "hmmm I wonder if this will be the one?")

I know the lighting is terrible... You can check it in person Friday!!!!!

Its a little less pronounced against my silver vs your white, but I like it... just wish I would have done a better job spraying, there is a light spot! grrr! now I have to remask to touch it up!
