Uprev, car won't start

I need some help, I went to upload my uprev tune and everything seemed to have went smoothly. I go to turn on the car and it won't start, it doesn't even try to crank. There is a small key light that appears right above the fuel gauge.

Can someone help me out?

Battery flat.?Key not detected.?

Lowbz21 10-13-2013 06:25 PM

The battery seems to be fine, same with the keyfob because I can put the car in the on position no problem. It is just I try to turn on the car and it says press the clutch even though I have it pressed, and the key light above the gas gauge is on.

That sounds like a bad clutch position switch.

That crossed my mind too but what's with the key light?

Clutch sensor has gone out

I dunno. :( If someone doesn't come up with an answer soon, try looking through the starting system section of the FSM (link in my sig). It has a description of what is supposed to happen, how to troubleshoot, and what any lights may mean.

Just a thought IF it is the switch? Try to disconnect it and jumper it with a small piece wire or paperclip?

If it starts theirs your problem just make sure it doesn't come in contact with any metal since it could be either a power or ground.

If it's a single wire only? It may just be a ground switch which then you'll just need to ground it and fire it up to see IF it'll start.

By all means use a test probe to detect if its using power or ground since all your doing is completing a circuit.

This is only a temp fix to bypass the Clutch switch IF thats what the issue is, and NOT the fob's Battery.

If you had the anti theft map loaded make sure you didn't accidently push the buttons to have the car on that map.

Thanks ill give that a shot, but the first thing I did was go buy a new battery since that was the easiest and fastest thing to do so I crossed the keys battery off the list.

Can anyone else chime in?

Have you tried the clutch switch yet? Plenty have mentioned that. Theres only a few things it could be and it certainly sounds like that.

I messed around with it before, I disconnected it and tried connecting a paper clip to the connector pins on the wire but that's didn't do anything. But to be honest I didn't really know what I was doing.

Also this is the key light in getting, as well as the clutch light.http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/10/14/uzepyhy5.jpg

I highly recommend against doing things like that if you don't know what you are doing. It's very easy to fry one of the (expensive) control modules that way.

If you have tried all the other suggestions, I'd try flashing the ECM back to stock and see what happens.

Edit: IIRC, that key light means that the car is not recognizing the fob. Try putting it in the slot in the dash (near the VDC button).

I think I may have lost the stock tune while flashing to uprev, is there any way to recover it?
