Sounds like VVEL switchover at around 5200. If you have cipher you can log VVEL position and see there is an 'event' at around that RPM that can cause a blip of sorts.

Ill ask about that when I go on for my tune. The phrase "VVEL switchover" goes beyond my working technical vocabulary, but *sounds* like a worthy candidate for the phenomena.

Switchover is my word. Probably not the most accurate of words to choose. But there is a point around 5000-5200 RPM where the ECU begins changing the cam profile drastically. I'm fairly sure the throttles also do *something* around that same time, no doubt meant to be in concert with the VVEL system.

I'm going to experiment with it downshifting on curves and straights VDC off and on to see if its a VVEL or VDC thing. (Maybe neither?).

Weird though. Doesn't seem like a good "safety enhancement" if it is the VDC because it feels kinds like "ice mode" when your downshift slowing into a curve!! lol
