So if your ECU was 1VZ2D, 1VZ2C, 1VZ2B, 1VZ2A , ETC and you have a factory update done it changes the last digit. I know this for sure because I had an update when I removed my SC and had to get a stock reflash. Since then I tried to have my "old" UPREV tune flashed back to my car but was told the ROM changed due to the factory reflash. An I again have I MA sticker..

From all I have heard and gathered there are NO G oR Z guys with UPREV not getting stickers, Again its the Subby and EVO guys that have sensors shut off. I was talking to a tuner "Yes" UPREV guy and Ecutek and all the issue cars where cars with O2's, EGR's and other sensors shut off. OR Euro ECU's ROMS Like John said earlier.
An I still think it funny that the guys who started this is trying to extract info. :/

You didn't hear from me...

I was sent to a MAC last year after being re-tuned for an ART pipe install that same year. I was re-tuned by "guess who" no longer in bidness. They simply piggy backed on of my maps for the swap of hfc to ART pipe and xyz -pipe.

I went for inspection failed and referred to a MAC. I had to revert to stock Cats and de-tune which I did. I went to MAC and then was passed.

I was speaking with the guy and supposedly the software can detect any flash of the cars ECU if the digits are changed.

My problem now is I am up for inspection next month and don't want to go through all again.

there was , Did he check for readiness? Did have the the 02's turned off for his test pipes. So I did have a good one here. You are in here and looks like your trying to cause problems for UPREV( Heard you are a competitor ) If you want you tune so bad just go with the SUPER GREAT Ecutek

And again my ROM ID changed . The last digit changed when I got my "Stock reflash" and I still have a sticker.

Did you do anything to check for readiness before inspection? Did your tuner turn off o2's?

I have an inspection coming in 3 months, but my sensors are showing as ready. I'm going to head to the tuner to have him take a look at my ROM just to confirm. I feel confident that I'll pass.

I think certain codes were turned off and showing not ready or unsupported based on the tune used on my car. I had gotten the original tune from R/t tuning remotely and one map was overwritten(map 5) for my Art pipe change. I switched maps however to my 1st map given by R/t tuning using my new Art pipe set up for my failed inspection.

After detuning and being sent to MAC I was told that the Catalyst and Evap monitors must show ready status, which mine did not initially. The reasons why I do not know. I was also told that if tuned and the number is changed that you will be flagged to Mac as well.

Rich,

probably already covered but, after an ecu reset in my experiance it usually takes 50-75 mi before they show as ready. Ive reset mine twice after doing some mods and my torque app shows both of these parameters and it's 50 to 75 before they show ready.

If the codes are disabled in the tune (very common for test pipes) then they will show not ready and you will fail emissions in any state that does an OBD2 scan.

Not sure if they were or not. It was someones elses tune mailed to me by R/t tuning. I had passed with the same tune the previous years only difference was the exhaust set up(HFC's) and new regulation in Mass now checking for ROM differences.

IDK, too many variables in the last inspection. You put on test pipes and EVAP and O2 was "not ready". You also didn't check for readiness.

I think w/ all the trouble we go through to make our cars faster, we should at least invest in a OBD-II scanner to assist us w/ passing inspection to enjoy them more.

Going into an inspection w/ knowledge of how your is car setup/running and coming back w/ data could finally put this thread to bed.

I haven't decided if I'll toss my CATs on before inspection, but I do plan on going to the tuner to check my o2's. According to my scanner, I have no stored codes, and all my sensors are ready, including my o2's, which makes me think that maybe my o2's aren't actually off. I have inspection in 2 months so I'll be back.
