UpRev or a Reflash?

As the title says, which one would you guys do? I have complete breathing mods and just wanna squeeze a lil more power with tuning. Which ones are better?

Thanks:tiphat:

Uprev

Not only does it make a bit more power but you can change the pedal settings to make it feel faster, remove rpm limits, remove speed limiter and change fan settings to name a few.

Also gain map switching, as well as data logging and code clearing if you have the cable.

I just got it and am really enjoying it.

uprev, wouldn't waste my time with anything else.

lol uprev IS a reflash...

Uprev is a tool and reflash is a process.

LOL

To summarize, UpRev is a company that makes a software that allows you to reflash your OEM ECU

henry0844 05-23-2012 04:07 PM

lol, I think op is trying to ask if he should get tuned or just use can canned tune like a hypertech. if that's the case, a tune done on the dyno for YOUR car is always better than a canned tune.

kcquinn49 05-25-2012 08:47 AM

If I buy uprev, does it come with a canned tune for stock? I don't have any mods yet other than K&N drop in filters. I would like a tune for stock because it may be a while before I add any serious mods.

Also, how easy is it to connect and reflash?

seymore4 05-25-2012 09:04 AM

If you buy Osiris standard direct from uprev they send you a base tune and then you get 3 free updates--you datalog while you drive around and email that in, they analyze the data and adjust your tune, so you could just save the last 2 etunes for later when you got more boltons. Or if you didn't want to shell out 520 up front and weren't sure you'd use all the etunes you could buy Osiris standard from somewhere else--marketplace etc-- for 400 or so and buy the etunes from uprev for $50 each

kcquinn49 05-25-2012 09:42 AM

Thanks for the quick reply. I need to get this. Not sure yet which way to go.

After the 3 free updates one can also purchase more at $50/each? Also, is each update a selection of up to 5 maps?

I went to their site and saw how you fill out a form for ordering, which includes mods to the car. I may have post MAF tubes and m370 before ordering osiris. Then later mods would be the exhaust and possibly HFC.

seymore4 05-25-2012 10:09 AM

Yes you can purchase as many etunes as you want. Or you can go to any protuner shop and just pay for the dyno time since you'll already have the Osiris license. Or buy the tuner version and play with it yourself :p

seymore4 05-25-2012 10:11 AM

The 5 maps is a standard feature in Osiris, provided your vehicle has cruise
Control you get 5 tunes to store in the ecu

henry0844 05-25-2012 03:48 PM

just a question, why r u looking at tuning when you don't even need one yet? I understand your trying to get info but it also sounds like you want to get tuned now. if u plan on getting more mods after u tune then u should wait until you are done modding then get your tune. just an idea to save you a little cash, not trying to hate;-)

seymore4 05-25-2012 03:55 PM

Not true, I've seen a lot of guys who got tuned on near stock cars and were thrilled with the improvements, plus if he does the etunes like I suggested above it won't cost any more
