I guess I don't see any reason to wait, so I can also take benefit of the maps, other features like rev limiter, and have it ready for when I get the mods. Throttle response is better? I can get a valet and security map? Still benefits even if I do only pick up 10 or 15 hp on stock. I can't see ever using more than 3 updates, which is what comes with the purchase.

yep, the 5 maps comes standard with all versions of Osiris, you can specify how you want them set up, ie power map, valet map with rev/speed limiter, anti-theft map, etc.

i got my car uprev tuned and just changed the car battery. does the ecu reset to stock or does it retain the uprev program?

you're fine. The only thing that can erase the tune is a dealership ecu firmware update (go back to your tuner and have the ecu flashed back to stock before you go in) or an uprev tuner flashing it back to stock

I am getting my Z tuned tomorrow. I can't wait. How much are the cables from UpRev?

seymore4 06-20-2012 04:06 PM

If you want to buy a cipher cable separate its 200, doesn't include the license tho

Thanks, seems expensive. Is it a proprietary cable? Also where would I download the software to look at the maps and for logging purposes?

If you are just going to the shop and getting flashed and tuned you won't get the cable, so you cannot datalog, reflash the ecu, or anything, and will have to buy it separate to get that.

If you have the basic cable you can flash premade maps onto your ecu, but you can't view, edit, or adjust the tune files in any way.

You have to buy the upgraded tuner version, which gives you full access to everything to do that.
