Main problem with drag results is they're indicative of more than just how your engine is doing. What tires you're on, track conditions, extra equipment that helps with setup and launching (e.g. suspension, line lock, etc), what kind of tire rubber you're running, skinny front tires you'd never use on the street, and of course driver skill. |
I dynoed 343 last year than Less this year but my trap was
106.8 last year in fall weather this year trap was 108.9 in 97 degrees (literally) So I have no idea what to think about there dyno other than it works for Before and after tests. |

I don't think the thick skin is necessary unless you are foolish enough to think your intake/HFC/catback of brand X is going to get you SUBSTANTIALLY different results than the next guy... it seems most of the Z cars are pretty much in line with each other all things being equal. I can't reasonably expect to be 40 hp more than the guy down the street with the same mods as me. Just doesn't work that way.

The highest HP NA 370Z that we've dynoed made 321rwhp. This was with LTH, Gen 3 and FI CB. We have a dynojet. But I hear you can go to another dyno and make more power than ours. Our clients say that our dynojet reads low :(.
I don't believe your car is a factory freak. I think that that dyno needs some work. |

okay, so I'm a little slow; took me 12 hours to come up with this.
The dyno was a mustang dyno? That explains everything. "Everybody knows Mustangs are highly over-rated" :roflpuke2: |

As in, your trap speed at the end of the quarter mile shows your true horsepower better than an inflated/improperly configured dyno. So yes, if I trapped 107mph, and you trapped say, 103mph we can deduce that my car makes more power. It's not a hard concept, I just think you misread it.. Dyno numbers usually mean nothing unless you have a standard to compare to. It's a tuning tool, not a bragging tool. To the OP: if other Z's make around that power on that dyno, I think you have nothing to worry about and should be happy :) |

^^^ Huh. That's something all right. What was the actual SAE correction value?
