Exactly 50K? I might get a euro delivery m3, or a 335i with mods.

Another alternative would be picking up like a 5.0 mustang with a supercharger. Or a mustang + a turbo s2000.

Just as a note-- ideal conditions can mean a lot of things. I think running in FL helps a lot with times. My S trapped almost 5mph faster in southern GA than it does up in VA... just saying.

Also, having guys like Jnaut driving is an "ideal condition". Put him behind the wheel of the M3, and it will likely lay a better time.

Not exactly, just in that range. What about if you bump the range up to $100k (which is hopefully what my next car purchase will be) with the possibility of a beater DD car. My personal choices are new GT-R or used Lambo/Ferrar/R8. What do you think?

M3 is over rated. The mustang Laguna seca beats your 80k M3. Plus when it comes to price the m3 is the GTR,Z06 range... The M3 is a nice 5.0 mustang that has more detail thats it.

A NA Z could not beat a C63. A NA Z running 320/330 to the wheels can beat a 6mt M3
now a DCT is fast so it would be close. A 370Z 6 speed running 310 to the wheels got beat by a ISF that had exhaust and intake but only got beat by half a car. That same ISF beat a 6 speed E92 M3 by two cars. M3 wouldnt run the 370z!!!
So from what i saw that night if a 310 RWHP 370z did that good... then a 320/330 RWHP NA Z will beat a Stock M3,ISF,SS,5.0, ect no problem. and if you have the 7AT then your gonna be even faster. So Yes NA Z can beat a M3!!

335i are even beating m3's!
