Do I need a tune?!!

I just got a true dual exhaust put on with hfcs and I also have aftermarket intakes. Someone just told me I need a tune or my car can blow up. If this is to be true, does anyone know of a place in the NJ/PA/DE area? I have no idea what the cost is either or how long it'll take for the tune. Someone please help!

Lol it probably won't blow up but your engine could be running lean. It might be wise to hook it up to a dyno and wideband to monitor your AF ratios.

Stillen doesn't recommend using their intakes if you already have full bolt-ons because it could result in your car running lean. Either remove it or get a tune. Most likely you are running lean since others have mentioned this with the Stilen intakes.

your car wont blow up without a tune. You are probably running lean which means that you have more air than fuel than the optimal air/fuel raito due to your breather mods(exhaust & intake). A tune will bring it back the correct air/fuel ratio and prob give you a little more power if done right. Also AAM sells a pre-installed tune with the COBB accessport device, there is a big thread on it

No, your car will not blow up and while your car might be running lean I'd wager it probably isn't anything to worry about.

Like many have said, an AccessPort isn't a bad investment, though.

As far as getting dyno/pro tuned, go to Akuma.

I dont really think you even need a tune. It wouldnt hurt if u have the money to blow. Just do what I did. The vehicles ECU automatically updates and recalibrates itself. So unplug your battery for a few hours and then plug it back in. The ECU will calibrate itself to the new mods. This is what I did and I have high flow cats, intakes, and cat back exhaust. Hope this helps.

It's always a good idea to at least get the A\F checked on the dyno. I've seen so many Zs and Gs run on the extreme side of lean after doing typical NA mods. The big one being intakes that use a larger MAF pipe.
