I'm seriously thinking of getting it but i'm talking some stuff out with clint and deciding if i want to miss my first trackday this year before i throw the money down. say what you will about cobb not having the maps out right now but they at least offer something i can tweak myself or take to my local shop to have done instead of a protuner only purchase like that other reflash service.

double post

Totally worth the money imho. There are tuners however that have maps such as AAM for the 370, so even if Cobb doesnt, someone else will. And from what I hear, they've made some pretty good breakthroughs tuning the VVEL recently and should be seeing some good maps.

yea i tried tellin him that but he think his 6.1 is untouchable. Soon ill be at the top in the family now that my dad got rid of the viper and got a R8 but he got the 4.2 v8 which is plenty for him since its just a weekend car. so what are you gunna do about your warranty when you get the cobb? just set it back to normal when you take it for service or whatever reason??

they got to be a good bit under 5 secs for their 0 60 time stock. Is that the 2010 one?

edit: from what I can find they are around 4 secs in the 0 60, thats pretty good.

kgreen 03-09-2010 04:32 PM

The r8 does a 0 to 60 in 4.3 and 13.2 quarter so I'm not too far off. My brother has a 07 str8..0 to 60 in about 4.7 or so

Your a little off on the R8 qtm. Its more like 12.7-12.8. With AWD is would also take us off the line :(

With full bolt ons and a proper tune it might be an even race...i doubt you would be beating it though.

Don't get me wrong though...I would love to try though :)

no, they sit firmly at 5 flat, from allpar.com

The Dodge Charger SRT8, with its 425 horsepower (420 lb-ft) 6.1 liter Hemi (Dodge Charger SRT8 test drive), does 0-60 in five seconds, 0-100-0 mph in the mid-16s, and 60-0 braking in about 110 feet. It uses retuned dampers, spring rates, bushings, and anti-sway bars, a half-inch lower ride height, a retuned stability program, and 20 inch wheels with Goodyear Supercar F1 three-season tires (245/45/20 in the front, and 255/45/20 in the rear).

Also keep in mind, that 4.7 was achieved with a professional driver, i'd say the average weekend track warrior like myself would pull 5.2-5.3

kgreen 03-09-2010 05:55 PM

True. i should just solve all of this and just run him now lol

Red370 03-09-2010 06:08 PM

oh no no no, get the bolt ons and tune, then do it, dont do your car and pride an injustice if things dont go your way, lol
