Is buying a used Uprev cable and license a good idea?

The warranty is 1 year from purchase and only applies to the original purchaser. There were some issues with the older 2 piece cables they were using for a while

There were some issues with the older 2 piece cables they were using for a while but I haven't seen many issues for the last year or so.
