Review - Ecutek by Master Tuner: Eugene @ Enthusiast Auto Care

Good write up, I also went with EcuTek due to it's features and bluetooth app. I am tuned/still fine tuning (just got it 2 weeks ago) with a EcuTek master

Good write up, I also went with EcuTek due to it's features and bluetooth app. I am tuned/still fine tuning (just got it 2 weeks ago) with a EcuTek master via e-tuning in my area-ish as opposed to dyno. Like you, I am interested whether my tune is top of the line or average, but I have no way of knowing besides thinking it feels and sounds better. I hear UpRev makes more power overall but at the cost of features.

I have not heard this, and haven't seen any evidence of it throughout my time reviewing dynos. Source?

I've never heard that either. It's just software, so the only difference would be the tuner. Also, Ecutek handles timing very differently than Uprev, so it is supposedly easier to make consistent, repeatable power with it over Uprev.

That was my impression.

I've actually heard this, but it was word of mouth at the 2017 Z Nationals, but I can't remember who was talking about it. They said Ecutek is a better tuning software, but the latest revision of UpRev produced better top end numbers. I never investigated it further because I had no intention of getting a new tune with UpRev.

Something about the new ARC iirc. Some local Z owners running both UpRev and EcuTek mentioned it. One specific one said he wish he chose UpRev instead because of ARC. Again, word of mouth, I know dyno sheets are more conclusive.
