I get the burble/pop sounds with mine. if i downshift from 3rd to 2nd, in the 3-2k rpms i get allot of burbles and quite often some pops and nice little sounds. not so much about racecar for me but I personally like them it adds character to this beautiful car. its small details paired with everything else i love about this car that i like!

Curious what the verdict is with this and stock cats. I get the hesitation to do with with stock cats but now with BMW and Jaguar doing it OEM I’m wondering what they are doing differently to not destroy the cats.

Oh and can we get some clips of this new tune to hear how it works.

Everyone I see running these burble tunes are they same ones that want flame maps and rolling anti-lag on a non-boosted car... It's another gimmick.

Honestly, it wouldn't feel that way if they tuned it like manufacturers do. Just a little bit to know you have something going on. Instead all I hear is **** like this video where it's going on for way too long. All the **** I see is like they're overcompensating for being slow since they have no boost noises.

You should take a look at a set of sparkplugs after some time on these gimmicks, or even look at the tensioner pulley when trying to shoot flames.

Oh yeah, we even have a fancy name for it, Overrun. If I heard that crap test driving a car I would overrun the damn salesman to get out of there. If guys did that crap around my area I would bring little bags of rice to pelt them with. It's the stupidest crap yet.

I think this stuff has gone over the top. Mine is not tuned for it but will over run when the pipes are hot and I run hard on e85. Heck I got black flagged at a track day because my car backfired on an upshift right at the sound meter.

To answer the question why do have to give it some throttle is because you need unburned fuel in the exhaust and that is what causes the flames and backfiring. Have fun with all that as I am happy leaving show offs in my rearview mirror!

To each their own guys... No need to be negative about it.

And I know why you have to give it 10% throttle, but there's other ways of doing it via tuning instead of the need of hitting the gas pedal.

But anywho...

My Z has been doing this since RT Tuning did my tune in 10/12. Even before it was in style. The higher up in the rev range, the more burble and pops I get on downshifts. It's nothing major like what some people want. It's just enough to lets everyone know that I'm not stock. Coming up to a stop sign or red light. I can turn some heads.

I was mostly just bustin your chops (pun intended) my friend, lol. That is what is so fun about the car community is the diversity in what we like. Heck like Rusty, mine has been doing that stuff before it got vogue in the factory cars and she sometimes shoots flames on downshifts as well, just not on demand. Pretty much like a race car. :driving:

Here's an adjustable version of it that I did:
