Pulled the Trigger on the ECUTEK E-tune.
The cable is sitting in my garage, and the laptop shall be there after work. WoOt |
Can a great custom tune be done without a Dyno such as an E-Tune?

You have to make some street runs to capture data and then send that off and wait for your new tuned setup. |

it can ron, but you gonna have to find some wide open roads where u can get a buncha redline pulls. Street tuning can be dangerous lol

The day I was scheduled to be tuned couldn't happen as my installer wasn't finished with the kit installation and that was last week, Thursday. I tried hitting him up after picking up my car to reschedule but I am at his mercy to get my car tuned. Mean while I am DD and that why is so much more so urgent for me to do so hence is why I have tried getting Visconti to schedule something asap. |

Submitted rom dump to John today. Let's see how long a file processing takes.

So can someone explain exactly what the "flat foot shifting" is? I have heard of it before as in shifting with out taking your foot off the gas but was curious if this was the same thing. And how it works

Email is the best way to get a hold of him. He responds to emails in the order they are received. And with that said he dyno tuned my car last night at pure automotive. I was completely surprised bc we havent really been in touch, but him and my shop worked for 20 hrs yesterday and got my tune done really late last night so i havent gotten all the details yet. I'll wait for him to contact me bc i think he drove all the way back to ct from md after he was done.

Oh yeah im officially in the 700whp club. Only thing i know is that it was tuned on e70. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Great numbers and congratulations! I think they tune to e70 to compensate for any margin of error with the flex fuel sensor. I have yet to get an ethanol reading of above 83%.
|
thankyou hotrodz, Man you get up to 83% ? highest ive been seeing around my way is like 72-73% Either way im very happy and cant wait to see what 700 feels like =)
|
I can't imagine 700, 600 is a wild ride...yep, the ethanol here is pretty good stuff. I consistently at 82! Can't wait to hear your review...
|
well once i pick her up in i'll def write up a review for you guys.

Can someone please create a list of advantages and disadvantages, or feature compariosn between ECUTEK and UPREV?
Thank you. |

1. on the fly map switching, im pretty sure i wasnt able to do this on uprev but its very useful for me when im on the street and someone tries to test me, I can switch to map 4 and call it a day all while driving. 2. Flex fuel- Lets u run any mixture of pump gas or ethanol, or e85 whatevers convenient for u. 3. Built in TRC with a temp highjack 4. Launch control- super easy to engage, easy as turning vdc off, put into gear, and hit the gas and clutch at the same time. 5. no lift shifting- you can shift while never letting go of ur gas. 6. No need for a boost controller and i cant think of anything else at the moment. oh damn i thought of a disadvantage: You cant self tune with ecutek but with uprev you can. But im no tuner so its not really a disadvantage. |

I did, however, get my first e-mail from him saying I shouldn't e-mail so much, it'll slow down the ECU turn-around time. No ETA however. OH i'm sorry, did customer service get in the way of doing your job? Oh wait, the job IS customer service. :shakes head: |

I REALLY wish there was an authorized shop in the area. This whole remote tune thing makes me nervous |
I PM'ed and e-mailed with Sebastian after starting mine.
You should do the same, make yourself feel more comfy. :iagree: |
