I don't see how this thing went bad. I used it multiple times and left it in my glove department, then go to use it 8 months later and it wont connect.

Did you update the cable software? I had issues using mine when it laid dormant for a couple years. Updated all software and cable udpates and it worked fine after that.
Now that I'm boosted I use the cable all the time to monitor things that my gauges can't read. It's always good to know what is going on in the engine of a boosted car.
