Its approaching bed time! Gotta get at least 4-5 hours sleep so I can get back here and crank some more.

AzSpeng 01-16-2014 04:57 AM

im still here at the shop feeding the lathe..getting old fast.. time to get a bar feeder and fast

phunk 01-16-2014 05:17 AM

Well I guess that's where doing round-o's in a VMC isn't all that bad after all... Some custom jaws or other holding techniques and you can load up and cut several parts at once. Unless you really need the flawless concentricity on the part.

AzSpeng 01-16-2014 05:54 AM

stuff a corner rounder just couldnt do, also very flat parts. is what it is lol

Phunk, mine was successfully delivered. It's a shame this thing will be hidden away in the gas tank, but that's what it's for lol.

Hey Charles,
Arrived yesterday, Thanks very much
Quick Question
How long do you think I should allow to do the install work, Is it a 2 hour job or a full day?
Cheers
Keith

phunk 01-29-2014 10:55 PM

I would give it 2 days, but it could probably be done in one session with some determination.

Mike 01-30-2014 05:45 PM

I think it took me about 5-6 hours. BUT, I didn't use the CJM wiring or relay, as I already had one installed in that area from when I had an aftermarket amp

Rusty 01-31-2014 08:35 PM

When I did mine. I took 2 days being careful. Now I could do it in a day. It's best to take your seats out. Gives you MORE room. ;)

Need a little help

Guys, need a little help on this install. It's something I could probably do myself, but given my work schedule and other commitments over the next few months I just don't want to take it on.

I was going to have the GTR mech at my dealership do the work, but the dealership recently sold and I don't want to get involved in that mess right now.

So, a buddy of mine said he'd take it on for me in the near term with access to a lift. He used to build and repair helicopters in the military and he's helped me out on tougher car jobs in the past, I trust him completely, a lot more than frankly almost anyone in the car area. Anyway, the problem is he usually won't let me pay him fairly for his work and if I'm not there to be involved it's hard for me to judge time, etc. I HATE haggling with him to INCREASE the price when he does help me. I would like to get him $$ equivalent to what I would have paid Nissan, or at the very least an indy for the install.

For those that have paid a 3rd party for the install, would you mind sharing here, or via PM what you paid? That would go a long way to helping me be fair with him. Thanks in advance.
