My time attacks and hdpe recaps
 

I will use this thread to recap time attacks, competitions and hdpe events that I attend.

Ran the Nissan Challenge sponsored by Corner3 Garage with Extreme Speed on 4/20/13 and won the RWD Street Class with a 1:33.88 at WSIR. Great turn out, my friend Will with 240sx won Mod class and my other buddy Len Novak with 350Z won 2nd place mod class. We had some traffic on the Advance group sessions which made it difficult to run clean laps. There were a few porsche gt3 going TOO slow and wouldn't allow passing and just gunned it down the straight!! I was able to put down a decent lap time (I normally run low 1:33 and hoping for a 1:31-32 next time out there.

A few weeks back I had my rear camber arm break at the track (will have a detailed write up after this). Mike@Corner3 garage and SPL came to the rescue and Mike got me a replacement SPL rear camber arm the week before my Redline Time Attack event. The car is still not fully aligned, alignment was way off. Front left -2.6, front right -3.6, rear left -1.8 and rear right -3. Obviously car was VERY loose on any right hand turns (didn't have time to get it aligned on time).

Looks really fun! Funny that you and the RSX passed a Boss.

Seems like driver lost it at T12 by corkscrew and shot across, thing is that station is very far away so who knows. They shut down the track when it happened and everyone else had to leave, I had friends that where there

Rsx is my friend's car, pretty much a gutted race car and its FAST!

I forgot this past event was a double Time Attack with the Nissan Challenge and also the Extreme Time Attack. I also won RWD Street class with ETA.

Comparing my fastest lap with Steve Rice's fastest lap. I am in the green, Steve is in the orange, shows real time once you download the data off the Qstarz
Link to the real time showing speed/G sensor etc...

Some bad lines on a few turns, but enough to win enthusiast class rwd.

What sizing are you running on the RS-3's? I was lookin into them but 285/35 is the widest they make for the 18's.

that's what I run 285/35/18, I don't need any more tire with right alignment. I run about -3.4 up front and -3.2 in the rear. My car is setup to run Redline Time Attack.

I wasn't sure if the 285 was gonna be enough for auto cross. I know you're sliding around but youre also dealing with much higher speeds then any autocross would reach. Hmmmm.... May have to take these back into consideration.

sorry didn't reply earlier, you will not need to go wider than 285.... I run it square, u should like that for autocross so you can rotate the car a bit but also lessens understeer upfront

No first place but close! 2nd place Enthusiast RWD at Redline Time Attack at autoclub Speedway here is a video, still dial in suspension but ran a 1:56.xx, car should do a 1:54 np next time.

What happened to your front fascia? It looks deformed?

broke a plywood undertray and without that support it sags/deforms badly on 100 deg weather!!

Sell me your 11k springs and replace them with 6k. ;) Ru going to big willow? I will be there both days could use a co-pilot.

i have this fascia on my car and i've not had this problem yet. so you had to put plywood under there to support it? that's nuts

Now you say setup for time attack why? Normal road racing you would do it differently?

Because he is setup for a specific time attack class.

For road racing I would run exact same setup, 285's square lets the car rotate really well with throttle control!

I did some testing on Sunday at buttonwillow Cw13 before the Fr Shoot out on Thursday at Streets of Willow to make sure car was working well.
