Well, I assume you mean straight line, say 1/4 mile?
The 5.0 does it in 12.7 seconds according to MotorTrend

Honestly, if you want to KILL one, only a turbo or supercharger will help you do that...
All motor it looks like in the 1/4 mile, either you'll lose every time by just a hair, or it will depend on your skill...


If you're already rolling (lets say you closed the freeway ;-) and were going 60-100...) You'll need a turbo or supercharger for sure, no questions there

who cares its not even the same car ,we have a mustang in our area that races at every light ,i guess he has to prove something all the time ,when i got my Z just before winter he came up behind me and reved his engine ,when the light changed i gave him enough room to get next to me ,then it happend he floored his car and took off, at that moment i looked over at him and smiled he was racing himself ,i thought what an a*****e ,i was just cruzin with the top down enjoying the day ,you see when you have a sharp looking car you don t have to prove anything to anybody.

Just do like I did and buy a fox body, and tweak it a bit. For less than the cost of a sc + install you can beat a new 5.0.

a set of full bolt on's and 4.08 gears.
with big wide tires on the rear.
Just to let you know Desilva racing had a N/A, 5.0 mustang at the drags when i was there and it ran 10.80. way faster than my 12.342.
and that was with no supercharger on it, all motor !!!!

The 9 second stang had a built moter, These guys ran the stock engine, no internal mods.

True, but the point is the car is a 9 second NA car and really looking at it, looks to be about the chassis & drivetrain more than the engine build they did to get it into the 9s.
