2013 Conti Challenge round #2 COTA
 

Next week is round 2 of the Conti Tire series at Austin texas's beautiful Circuit of the Americas.
The 370Z has been given a 50 lbs weight reduction down to 2850. It will be interesting to see how it helps... From all indications ..since COTA is new.. There isn't much grip.
This should be a very good condition for the Z ...especially if everyone behaves and there is long green flag runs.
The car has jus returned from the body shop and should be set to go.
We have a couple new tweaks including a new (old) shifter in the car. We will now be using one of the original 350EVO solid race shifters...which always worked great in the 350EVO Grand Am Cup 350Z.
Shoul be interesting..
Also.. We have limited edition Doran Racing 370Z RC edition T shirts for sale.
Anywho.... Transporter leaves Sunday and things get underway next Thursdays test and tune.

It's cold outside and I don't have a heated garage. :ugh2:

Even once it gets warmer out it's still probably going to be a couple weekends with the pile of parts I have to install though.

You could drive down here and we could help with the install. Heated garage and such.

Thanks for the offer but, until the salt is off the roads I don't plan on getting the Z out of hibernation.

I also have a set of AST shocks that need put on when the arms go on (no reason to tear the suspension apart more than once).

Does anyone know if this will air on Speed2 next sunday? I think another member on this board mentioned that they were able to watch the Daytona race live on there

Yes they usually are on live on Speed 2...then tape delayed on Speed Channel the following week.

Just got a few shirts and they are very nice looking shirts

I would definitely get my hands on some if you can before they are gone

Plus it helps the team out, great bunch of guys at Doran, anything we can do to help them out

Get some good pics of engine bay, suspension and interior if you can! Would love to see what they have been up to. I need some ideas for my car too!

Anyone know what happened to the Z today? Saw something on facebook about it being in the frame shop and needing a lot of work.

Yeah there was an incident. If anyone has a spare hood in or around the Austin Texas area, PM BJ (Dwnshift) ASAP.

Car is at the frame shop..gonna be a loooong day....and night. Pushed it to deep in the braking zone on the back stretch.

Dang if I was in area they could use my hood, it's off the car now. And i have a spare. Hope they can get it pulled together in time. Was it running competitive lap times prior to going off?

it's has set no time in the 2nd Practice session that I have seen on live/timing scoring

I saw that an Aston T-boned someone a Mustang practice yesterday and thought "glad that's not the Z." Now this. Good luck making quali!
