anyone installed Iq3 datalogger?

I have ordered an iq3 datalogger to get my laptimes, etc.... Trying to see where did you get the rpm signal etc or some of the settings... never used one before.
It will be here in about 2 weeks, and been thinking of places to install it. I will also be looking at quickrelease hub and steering wheel

I don't think he is FI... It's a track toy.

SE5spd 11-22-2012 07:37 PM

lol he's no where near FI. I think he just has intake, exhaust.

That's right I'm not FI, this is for lap timing, datalogger etc, will give you predicted lap timing, video overlay and analysis as well. I will be mounting it on the cubby hole for now.

This lists the Tach wire as - RED, AC, ECU Grey 32 pin plug, Pin 14

Hope this helps.

martin82 11-24-2012 08:13 AM

Thanks a lot I will try that and report back!!

Didn't get a chance to tap into the rpm signal wire for now but here is a first test fitment. Once I get a quick release hub and steering wheel it will go infront of the stock gauges and make it removable...

Ignore the wiring etc... didn't have time to clean it up late last night!

Won't this simply read off the OBDII port with a dongle of some kind.

I have one of these being fitted to my race car as it is under-going an analogue to digital conversion in our off-season and we've chosen to use a Haltech ECU and the Haltech badges the IQ3 as its "dash".

Inlcuded in my kit was a dongle that plugs into the Z34 OBDII port and I canthen plug wghat looks like a serial connector on the dash into the dongle.

I won;t have it all back in my hands until later in December and based on the IQ3 doc off the Haltech web-site, all I need are two config files for the dash, one for the Z34 and another for the race car ...

I'd be surprised if you'd need to patch into thw wiring as these kits are marketed as comppetition to the MoTeC CDL3 and that I know is plug and play with an OBDII connector.

Not sure if this helps ...
