stock or similar temperature brake fluids boils at the track, so you need stuff like motul 600 or similar, or if u upgrade to ss lines, I am currently running motel 660 (gotta change it more often too). The clutch fluid will also boil once you start driving the car hard, and the pedal will just hit the floor and not come back up.....until it cools down or u use your feet to pick it up.

Oh i see. I always heard you should just do SS lines but if you can just use a different fluid, id imagine thats much easier...

Thanks for the info.

Well what it did was the clutch stuck to the floor after about 5 laps and when I pulled into the pits the rear diff was overheated and binding up.

That's another thing to point out. The diff fluid is garbage. Probably the worst fluid that goes into our cars out all the fluids. If you track it's best to change out all fluids with some good performance based products.

And if you plan to do a good amount track time get a good diff. Hell even if you don't it's still one of the best mods to have.

Thanks for the tips, points definitively taken!

Any suggestions on pads that are will work both as a DD, autoX and track?
I've seen the consensus is xp8,10 and 12 for track driving but could the 8's be used for DD?
also are Stoptech pads any good?

Also any tranny and diff oil suggestions from what I've read Motul is the way to go correct?

I'm a fan of redline mt-85

djtodd 07-28-2012 08:23 AM

Oops. Sorry. Was thinking tranny. I like redline's diff fluid as well

Go with the Amsoil, way better than the redline product

Nice vid, I'm just getting started and love it! Passing is always on the inside?

No real mods yet for track specifically but my fan now turns on earlier with my Uprev tune. So that will help.

The car that is in front gives you a point by to the side they want you to pass on. It is hard to see the point bys in videos.
