Default Looking to take my first HPDE to see if I will enjoy tracking my DD Nismo.

I have never done anything like this, and I am not sure if it will be something I will want to dive into. My point is this. What is the cheapest and safest I can get off to experience the HPDE? I already know I need an oil cooler which I was going to do anyway, and I just had my oil changed and had high performance transmission fluid put in. Will this get me through 2 days of 3 thirty minutes sessions on my local road course?

I don't mind spending more money later if I feel like I enjoyed the experience. I just want to make sure it is for me before dropping some serious money. I don't know if it matters, but my car is an 09 with right under 14k miles on it.

Get good brake fluid and some better brake pads and you're all set!

Agreed. Also understand that cones hit will leave mars on your paint. If you don't care, then no big deal. Stock pads (depending on how you brake;early or late) wont last too long. Make sure you properly bed them BEFORE you hit the track....

These may be stupid questions, but here I go. What does bedding the brake pads mean, and once I leave the track and go back to daily driving, am I good to keep the HP brake pads on? Also, even though I just got an oil change will I need one again right after the track? I only drive about 3k a year.

Edit: did you mean bleed the brakes?

No, you wont need to change the oil right after. He means get going about 60 miles an hour and make a hard stop to about 10mph then repeat. Dont fully stop. This is more of a precaution and is not really necessary but you can do it to make you feel comfortable. If this is your first time, chances are you wont be as hard on the brakes as you are thinking.

For bedding pads follow the instructions that come with your pads. They can vary quite a bit. For example the Carbotech Bobcat/1521 bedding instructions are similar to what corbin09 posted but the XP series bedding instructions are essentially "run track session and brake until you get fade then do a cooldown lap and come in"
