I'm just saying it's not worth ragging on someone that isn't in the 12's that's all.

Those Maxima's are nice looking cars. I'd buy one if it suited what I was looking for in price and such.

Wonder of Jay will be mad if I set a better time in the Maxima then him :p
Since mods make me go slower, maybe I should start doing negative mods do decrease my car's power. Maybe if I reduce my HP by like 100 I can get into the 11's :rofl2: |
Wow, this thread..
Let's be honest, there's a lot of people (in Z's) I have met ,who just can't drive worth a crap. Nothing against them, but they just honestly can't drive a manual car. A good amount are scared to even take their car to redline. Personally, I went to PBIR just to test the car before a tune. I shifted normally, as in not WOT shifting, and babied it out of the hole. I just wanted to get comfortable with the car. Hitting 2nd hard sent me a bit sideways on one run. I am sure if I powershifted and tried as hard as I could, I could have gotten into the 12's, no problem. I decided I was not going back to the track until I got a tune and an oil cooler (the car was not consistent enough for me). |

Andre all your recent posts here seem to be aimed at stirring the pot. You always have something negative to say about the 370. I'm all for stating your opinion but you're going about it the wrong way. We all have gripes about the 370 and we know its not perfect, but all you talk about is how fast your 08 350 is, or how good of a driver you are, etc, etc...Can I ask why you don't post on 350Z forums?
|
Also, I don't know if anyone remembers, but it took a good amount of time for 350Z's when they first came out to be considered "fast". Why you ask? Because 350Z's started getting quicker when they started to drop in price and younger people could afford them, make the right mods and drive the piss out of them. Also, it took a bit for people to figure out what not to do, and what to do in terms of properly racing the car. No one wants to be the guy to discover what limits the transmission or diff has..
Seems as people get older (let's say 30) they really don't care to go to the track and improve every weekend. I hate to have to say I am the same way. I've been to the track once with my Z, and until I get an oil cooler, really don't care to go again (granted my track is about an hour away). Doesn't mean I lost my passion for driving, just means I lost my drive to commute to a track to get yelled at and kicked off because I don't want to buy a helmet :). I will say this though, a lot of the 370Z owners I have met seem to think their cars are gold. Or baby the car so much it takes the fun out of owning a "sports" car :( |

ALL my posts are about how good the 370z cars are & or how I'm considering buying one. I was in Florida when Jason(Jaun) & Ray set their best times. Told them that the 370 are faster than the 350HR, & of course much faster than the previous 350z's, like Mike's car. I'm mostly talking about the "I give up" "I have no interest" LIES!!!!! I'm talking about "we are ALL winners" attitude today. I'm fine with people moding for show. I always check them out. Even if you can't or have no interest in racing, that's perfectly fine with me. I don't like guys like the one that doesn't know how to change the rubber part of windshield wiper(previous poster), dumping on car enthusiasts. If you sukk don't dump on/get invoved in car guy threads. I have a life time:) ban at 350z. I wasn't used to posting, & might have over done it:) I'm also a much, much better driver than you'll ever be!!!! |
Hey Mike
Get back into drag racing!

It's the basic economics law of supply and demand. There's a butt-load of Mustangs + Camaros out there. There's a bunch of performance parts suppliers willing to create new heads, cams, and other horsepower generating pieces because there's a good chance someone wants to be faster. More pieces manufactured and sold drives DOWN the prices IF the parts deliver the goods.
How many threads have you read about 370Z head or cam swaps? Ford and Chevy small blocks have been around in one form or another for 50 plus years. Now, if you want to know IF the 370 can be made into a drag car, another old addage applies....the only substitute for cubic inches is cubic bucks. Check out the cost to make a supra generate 1000 hp. Then there's cubic inches AND cubic bucks if you make the entire motor yourself.... 932 cu in, 2140 hp for only $93k EXTREME PRO STOCK 932 CU.
