Saying you're going to hop in an identical car and beat a man of 10 years of racing experience is like saying you're going to hop into a boxing ring with a 10 year pro and KO him... like I said... you're dumb.

Can you go with that? |

anywhere I can try road racing/rent car & track time???
Must be a place. Not to prove anything, just always liked road racing but never had the opportunity. Just a few spins around a curvy track.????????????? Anyone?
|
I don't need an answer today. By spring time, I'll find a place.

The one thing I don't really get is that the Z can run a 13.3 in pretty much any magazine and as we all know some high 12's stock.
If one has ART or LTH's, a good CBE, CAI and tune I don't know why we don't see more 12.5's or 12.7 times without using rear gears. The only thing I can think of is that even with my ART pipes and the F.I. exhaust I can pretty easily spin in 2nd without getting on it real hard.. so I can imagine on a slick track with high temps it wouldn't work... but as said, not everyone posts their times either. |
Plus who wants to kill their car just for fun.

The only people that don't post their time are people who.......you can finish this sentence:) As far as killing the car. Going through 4 gears, only 12/13 seconds, with an engine cut off, you couldn't kill it no matter how hard you try. Without TT/S/C or Nitro, it's almost impossible to damage the engine. 60 months or 60k miles warrenty. How many keep our cars longer? "killing a car to have fun" What does that mean???? Laughing to get face wrinkles:) Golfing to pull a muscle:) skiing to break a leg:) sex to get tired:) Get real.... Don't tell anyone, but one road race puts more wear on the drivetrain, suspension, tires & brakes than drag racing ALL year. |
What?? English much??

Wait, aren't you the guy that recently started a thread ASKING how to change the rubber part of the windshield wipers? Can you pump your own gas?:roflpuke2::icon17::p |
I got to fix my car & get the hell out of here! L.I. home? Florida vacation. Even Acid trip is better than this. Over & out of here!

Bye

I asked that question? I live in NJ PT, I don't need to pump my own gas. What I do know is that I didn't buy an 08 350 when the 370 was available to me. If you are going to troll, at least come ready with a real car that no one is going to make fun of. (at least my rental Prius made it into the top 5 at rallyx out of 25) |

I take my car to the track as much as I can, ran 13.3 stock and a 12.9 with just exhaust and test pipes with drop in filters, spinning through 2nd and 40 deg weather out :)

I'll be honest... I don't really care that much what MY car can/could run. I like to see the guys who enjoy doing it get good times though. I feel the the car itself has a lot of potential... but in NA form there is just only so much you can do that won't completely break the bank. If I knew my car would would a 12.5-12.7... I think that's pretty good considering it's an NA 6 up against a whole lot of turbo cars who just have to turn the boost up... although that is fun  |
yes stock tires 13.3 run was with only 3.5k on the od and stock everything,
12.9 run was HKS exhaust Berk TEst Pipes and K&N drop in filters, on a very cool day 40 deg With all my bolt ons now and if I get a new set of tires in the spring I am thinking 12.6 is very reachable DAN |
I ran 12.80 with the stock tire and the intake and exhaust. I only got one pass in the 12.8's.
To our fellow member who said 12's are slow. Let me tell you there is nothing slow about 12.42's. on all motor. My friend the car is moving at that time. It pulled hard through all 5 gear's and there was no driver mistakes on that pass. I wish that i live closer to Jnaut. we would have a great 1/4 mile run agaist each other. plus with him working on my car i now that it would be quicker as im running my own Cobb tune on the car and i know that the Uprev tune would give it more power. Im not a tunner , i just keep ajusting the fuel settings. To the guys who live in high elevations your times are great consdering the conditions you race in. Be proud of your times for if you raced a sea level your cars would be way faster. My elevation is 650 ft. At sea level i would be in the high 12.2's. If you put my set up in RCY's car he would be running 11.5's or better with that stillen SC. Z |
No one said 12's were slow, just not much to brag about and rag on others that are not that fast. I only say that because my old street car was an 81 vette with a SC'ed 383 stroker that ran 10's on drag radials full interior and pump gas. Drove it everyday to and from work, and tracked on the weekends for four years.
|
12's are fine... let's think back with the cars that used to be considered fast. The old fox body mustang... low 14's, I believe the Camaro's were about the same.... I mean these were the cars to have... and we have a V6 that NO one EVER would have though it would be putting out 332 hp unless it was turbo or super charged.
|
Yeah it wasn't too long ago when 13s stock from an affordable street car was considered super fast. 12 (and lower) was the big boy's territory back then.
Now we're blending 12/13 from the factory and you aren't isht anymore until you're running 11s! |
Times definitely have changed...Maximas and v6 accords break into the 13s stock on the regular.
