That would break the existing SCCA T2 track record....

I'll have the video and telemetry up this weekend. I was on pace to beat the club class record by 4+ seconds but it rained for the time trial. So instead I went out and set FTD :)

Just to make sure, this was in a 370Z correct? Non-370Z times don't count.

7/10ths faster is an eternity in the time attack world. Just keep moving in that direction!

Just a question about getting lap times, is it fine to just use the video from my run to figure it out? I'm just a beginner but it would be nice to see how I do compared to others. Should be hitting the main course at Summit Point in August.

Using the video is relatively accurate, just give the time to the nearest 1/10th.

Sure. This thread is based off of the honor system anyway, I don't verify everyone's times. It's just for fun.

Sounds good then. I'll have to look through the video of my hyperdrive again to get my best lap time. It won't be good, but it's something :p

I'll see if I can beat that time in a Gallardo this Sunday. I'll be driving one on the same circuit as a part of this exotic driving experience that I bought. Only get 4 laps to try though.

ChrisSlicks 07-10-2012 05:09 PM

What did you record the video with? It looks a bit weird and jumpy.

An old go pro camera. Also this was my first attempt at video editing so that might also be part of the issue.

b1adesofcha0s 07-10-2012 10:52 PM

Ok I think I figured out why the video was jumpy like that. When I was uploading the video to YouTube, it gave me an option to "stabilize" the video because it detected some camera movement. I said yes and I think that's what made it so weird. Just watched the original video file on my computer and it's smooth and not jumpy at all. I guess I'll have to keep this in mind the next time I upload a video.

What configuration? Seems like a VERY quick time for main on Continental street tires.

It wasn't on the main course. It was a completely separate and much smaller circuit. It's the Jefferson circuit on the map below. This was during the Hyperfest event and they had HPDE's on the main circuit and Hyperdrives on Jefferson. I should be out on the main circuit next time around.
