Yeah but the M6 is on a SLICK and I was on a street tire and trapping nowhere near me, besides it was blazing hot when I did that 11.75

chuckd05 07-12-2011 12:24 PM

atco def looks down hill ???? you trapped 7 mph more and have a .4 slower 60 ... your car is much quicker than the m6 now

Econ 07-12-2011 12:39 PM

im on the boost fence and dont know which way to jump... ahhhh

chuckd05 07-12-2011 02:33 PM

jnaut ran a 12.2 N/A ...... think about that!! lol...

and i will be 12.4-5 by the fall... but Jeff's car is an 11.2 or better car and is nasty fast. searching youtube i saw the m6 jeff raced beating a lambo ... I cant imagine rolling up next to a gallardo and beating it in my Z , that would be VERY fun...

all it comes down to is money... do you have 12,000 for the initial build and do you have 10,000 if your motor blows? You should have 20k of money that wouldnt hurt you to spend if you go the F/I route on your 370z...

What I may do is buy my brothers 350z for 7k (03 Grand Touring) (just take over his payments, that what he owes) and start a build on that car while enjoying my N/A 370... You can pick up turbo kits or SCers for cheap on the 350 boards.... IMO the 370z is too new and a good NA car and I wouldnt want to risk needing a 10k motor if it blows... vq35DE's can be had for 800 and I can build it and drop the motor in , than buy a turbo kit and build a 350 for a fraction of the cost.. Still making really good power...

Building a DE is really not all that much cheaper to build than a 370z for the bottom end.Now if you start building the head of a DE with cam's valve springs it can easily become way more.I agree that the 370z is to new when you start talking about finding a spare motor to build on the side.

In the end you can build a VHR short block around the same price as a VQDE

yea that is sick man, i really want to see your car in person.

I'm only on the fence because our shop has a used stillen SC i can pick up for around 3500-4000 + install....

so ill only be a little over what my N.A build will cost. The shop also has 4.08 gears and a manual pumpkin/lsd in stock

ahhhhh decisions

SharpByCoop 07-12-2011 04:15 PM

Jeff, you just had PM do a retune before you went to the track? Did they do this on the dyno? REALLY good no matter how.

I'd like to know what the rwhp is now. I'm sceptical of only 530whp propelling this.

MPH = HP, no getting around it.
ET = Lots of factors.

PM and you did a great job. Boastful. Good stuff.

like i said bro you know how i feel about the boost/hp figures, but reguardless of that 127 is a blazing trap speed especially in this heat, you can probably get to 130 in better air and that would put you and LM neck and neck!! The day i went 11.81 it was over 84 on the track and 2000+ DA. I would love to go for a 11.40 or so in good air

jnaut 07-12-2011 05:54 PM

The title of this thread is quite a statement...

Good running nontheless

if performance has a stillen supercharger for 3500 there I will buy that tomorrow... and install it myself with nick (es fourteen) , so we can be twins.. all my mods will be just fine with the stillen SC ... I dont buy the 4.08s being too short for F/I , I can shift and drive I am not worried about bouncing off rev limiter.. lol

my theory behind the DE is , I would have another car to work on, for relatively cheap, while still being able to enjoy my 370z with a warranty...

Find a used turbo kit for half the price of the 370Z's kit, I know the motor cost would be similar but in the end I will have two Z's one that has warranty and one thats a project.. it would take me a few years but its something I am considering now that my bro is trying to sell his 350...
