I don't have any problems as an amateur in a cooler climate with my 25 row cooler. I managed to boil my PS and clutch fluid last time I was at the track but I don't think the oil went over 240 in a 20 minute session.

If the price difference is small, I would go with the 34R as I get near 260F at the end of each session. And I live in the northeast and you are down near southwest. You would need a block off plate though as I can barely hit 180F if the temperature is anywhere below 65F

just comparing sizes, the 25 row is about the same as my tru-cool as far as the front surface area, but a bit thicker (and it's got cooling fins and just generally a much better design). so maybe just upgrading to the setrab 25 row will be enough to cure my overheating problems? or should i just go with the 34 row and plan on using some kind of block-off plate for street driving?

also the only difference b/t 25 and 34 row is that the 34 row is just taller (same width), but this wont help that much b/c that additional height is covered by the bumper support.

i cant decide......

I have the 24 row with 10 size lines. It isn't all that hot here, but it was in the 70's last time out. No problems at all.

25 row setrab series 6 from Z1 with AN -10 lines and thermostatic plate. In daily driving the temp stays pegged at 175, only creeping to ~210 in bad traffic.

The top of the 25 row is already behind the crash beam and extra rows above that (on a taller 34r) will have even less direct airflow.

Last weekend at Nashville superspeedway the highest temp I saw was 240 at the end of the last 25 min session in 91 degree weather.

ok, so it looks like they have 2 sizes for the 25 row coolers. i ended up getting the 925 series 25 row cooler which is about 20% bigger than the 6 series. compared to the 34 row, it's only 9% smaller, but is more desirable i think, b/c it's longer (side to side), but not as tall as the 34r. the 34 row is shorter from side to side than the 9 series 25 row, but a lot taller (the top 40% will be covered by the bumper beam anyway). i'll install it tonight and test it out at next month's track event and report on how it does.

i wish they would just reference these by size instead of rows. it'll be a lot less confusing. i dont care how many rows - when it comes to trying to predict cooling ability, size is what we need to compare.

btw, i'm selling my tru-cool 8x11 cooler with 90 degree elbows, and an10 fittings. all you need to complete is hose, sandwhich plate and fittings from sandwhich plate to hose. pm me if interested. it'll be perfect for those who dont track or track in non-summer weather, and will not "over-cool" your oil.
