I didnt go to the track all year, except when I went at Branson Z fest and it was way to hot out and track prep was horrible.... next spring I should be able to add to the N2O times list :) I hope to have gotten a new set up at that point and maybe even improve my N/A times!

do you guys allow 135i's on the list ? Since there is a G37 figured I'd ask...Lmao

12.2@120 with a shitty 1.98 60ft... went once than the track closed down due to multiple people crashing ..... i guess a bunch of inexperienced guys were out because I have never ever seen so many people hit the wall within an hour.. there was oil everywhere! drove 4 hours for 1 pass... pretty awesome... atleast i trapped 120!

Great time!

120mph holy sh!t !!

Was that 1.98 on slicks?

chuckd05 11-20-2011 08:05 PM

Na a weak *** warm up launch on nitto nt05R which by the way are a VERY good tire. I had way more traction than I thought I would and it bogged down and paused for a sec. All I needed was one more pass and I woulda went 11.xx.

this 120 trap is on stock intercooler and turbos . This is with jb4 tune, fail safe tune integrated washer fluid meth injection kit, Downpipe, and cat-less exhaust - all of which I paid under 2k total for. With a race gas / 93 mix.

My issue now is axles. At my current power level (450whp 450wtq ISH ) half shafts Start to go so I must be careful. But with all of this said, i still miss the Z and wish I could have both cars.... Each has its advantages over the other, but this cars speed, especially top end is absurd... after that 1 run and other drivers crashing we were sitting still and multiple people came over asking wtf does my car have to trap 120... its impressive how easily this car goes fast.. it does get expensive after where I am at now to go to next level but 120 traps is nice for a comfortable fairly quiet DD. this cars "VVEL" obsticle is the fuel system, there is really no upgrades and is the only thing holding these motors to really making more power..

I got a chance to head to the drag strip myself yesterday. The damn track people set it up so that it was pretty much impossible for me to go around the water box. I would get at least one of my tires wet each time, which would ruin the run. Only got one run in which that didn't happen, it was my first one and I ran a 13.1 @ 108.3 mph.

I guess I'll have to wait till March to try and beat my stock time :(

Speaking of axles, for one of my runs, the guy right in front of me snapped his rear axle and his car had to be towed off the track. I had to wait another 15-20 mins before I could finally run.

is it possible to do a burnout with the auto ? A small one would at least help... the track I went to Friday ( Atco ) it is impossible not to go through the water and there is a lot of it... a good burnout is nessasary...

Probably not without at least pulling the brake fuse. I've never really tried. The annoying thing is that I've been to this same track at least 3-4 times before this year and never had that issue before. Probably didn't help that there were only 2-3 cars that were on street tires the whole day, including myself.

chuckd05 11-20-2011 08:31 PM

while i was at the track a guy in a g37x went 13.0@108 in full auto mode with intake and a tune... the weather was favorable obviously but i was impressed... he also bitched about the water and tried doing a Nuetral drop and said something about it cutting off , lmao... but his awd obviously helped him still get a 1.9x 60

congrats chuck, glad you got a nice running car.

blades, a word of caution when pulling the brake light fuse. You won't be able to move the shifter from "Park" to "Drive" because it the car doesn't know you're pushing the brake pedal when the fuse has been removed. So when you do decide to do it, pull up the e-brake, leave it in "Neutral" then turn off the car. Pull the fuse. When it's time to make a run, it'll start up in neutral and you should be able to slide it into Drive even though the fuse isn't there.

A little something I learned watching a 350Z 5AT at our local track.

I don't know if I'm even gonna try pulling the brake fuse, but thanks anyway for the advice.

Quite the opposite actually. Cars on slicks actually help keep the track sticky, they throw down some sticky rubber on to the track. Street tire cars are the ones that mess it up.

I meant for the water box issue. :p

With only 2-3 cars that needed to go around it and not through it, I don't think they really cared much about it.

That would be me. The Infiniti G37 is SO similar to the Z series (motor, driveline, trans) that I was allowed in. BMW 135i is a stretch.... :rofl2:

HELLO!!! :tiphat:

I'm about to get my car back from being parked at The Shop for 8 weeks (long story, no action though). I'm going to give it one final try before the season is over to breach 11.6's.

Anything in the twelves or lower on these rides starts getting FUN!
