No, although I'm sure you'll agree that racing is more about the driver than the car.

Of course, but you know what i mean...

Also, it was the 335ix...

a properly tuned 335/135 will destroy all but FI 350/370's,and even then its going to be close. with a slight edge to the 335's. Im sure a few people will chime in here shortly now that we have gone this route :)

what do jb4'd 335i run?

what does a properly tuned 335/135i run?

They're pretty quick in a straight line, and on some road courses. They (especially the 1 series) have some suspension issues that really cause problems on more demanding road courses.

Factory turbo cars are always going to offer quite a bit of tuning potential.

i can buy a new corvette (actually my old 05 can too) and do circlres around you, but then who cares. its all bench racing, car can only go as fast as the driver

cossie1600 04-07-2011 03:04 PM

correct me if i am wrong, but i thought 135 and 335 dont have lsds?

haggomyeggo 04-07-2011 03:27 PM

i was looking very hard for the right 335i but i just wasnt sure about them and finding one with the correct warranty and CPO and options was kinda hard.

true that that JB3-4 whatever they are at now makes the 335i pretty tough but turning up the boost in a car CAN not will but CAN have issues

not stock they do NOT have LSD. you have to get up to the M series to get one. Surprising in the new Car and Driver they compare
G37 IPL
M1 Coupe
Audi TT-RS

BMW is cheapest i believe, crazy to say yeah the BMW is the cheapest in anything......

oh but remember this

135/335's do NOT come with LSD. but 135/335 was not the sports car argument

135/335's are rather impressive in 1/4 mile and 60-130 runs.

since we have factory turbo's, tuning is easy. what i meant by that is a car that is using his octane and boost proportionatly. basically an N54 that runs octane for 16-17 psi, is going to put a hurtin on A LOT of cars.

and yes cossie, you can buy a corvette and run circles around, but is that the total package?

If you put it up against a forced induction Z, supercharged or TT'ed, a fully tuned 335i with stock turbos would not have an edge.

really? i dont think you know what your talking about. I dont think your aware of what fully modded N54's can do.

Stock turbo N54a are running 119-123mph in the 1/4 mile

im shooting for 126+mph this season, i have upgraded turbo's (stock housing, upgraded internal's ect)
