FS Performance V1 Nismo splitter/undertray

This front splitter/undertray from FS Performance for the V1 Nismo looks pretty nice.

Rusty 01-03-2021 03:21 PM

Looks like it doesn't stick out that far to be useful for the track.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. I'm not sure if they've done wind tunnel test's with it. I'll have to ask. But, it would be nice for street use

For looks, t's nice. Can't tell if it fills the gap in the center.

redondoaveb 01-03-2021 03:34 PM

They're getting ready to design a rear diffuser for the V1 nismo taking into consideration the FI exhaust design.

I am interested in that splitter. Looks like it get's rid of the vent of the Z-speed undertray. That needs to go because to me it causes lift under the car. It's a flat floor on the front like stock. Do you have a webpage for them for us Non-Facebook users. I will be able to tell real quick if it works well.

Yep, they're going to keep me informed. The front splitter does indeed fill in the gap created by the stock splitter

Spooler 01-03-2021 04:16 PM

Do you have a link???

Rusty 01-03-2021 04:39 PM

That splitter needs to come out about 4" to be effective.

Here you go. I'm interested also. Let me try to work on a price for a couple of them.

He admits they have not done wind tunnel testing as they are a small company but fwiw, the customer that bought the one shown in the pic said he felt it worked real well

Spooler 01-03-2021 04:56 PM

With a TT kit Greedy oil pan some of those tabs in the back have to be removed. I wonder how it hooks into the inner fender liners at the bottom? I am more interested in the keeping the flat floor like the stock undertray.

One run down the interstate and I will be able to tell real quick if it is working.

By the way, when I told him that a couple of us were interested, he said he would give us a discount

redondoaveb 01-03-2021 05:17 PM

Also, he said if there's anything custom or any changes you want made, he would do them.

I need to see a picture of how it integrates with the inner fender. My intakes and brake cooling ducts run through there and it is close.

Spooler 01-03-2021 05:26 PM

Anyway we can use different bolts. Bolt heads hanging down look like chit. Anyway we can use some type of flush mount bolts? I will drag those bolts heads off to a nub. LOL

It does have brake duct openings. I don't know if they'll be a benefit to you

Those are not for brake ducts. Those are for air flow control under the car.

Check your Instgram messages, I sent you the pdf of their installation instructions with pics

According to their pdf instructions, they're for brake duct hoses

redondoaveb 01-03-2021 05:40 PM

Now I see what you're talking about. They're to funnel air to the brakes, not for hoses. Doh :icon14:

Rusty 01-03-2021 05:44 PM

After looking at the pictures on their website. I have to give this a

The reasons. It doesn't stick out far enough to be effective. It is angled up in the front increasing lift at speed. It still uses the black plastic piece under the bumper.

Did you remove your factory splitter?

The black piece piece under the very front of the bumper? Yea. I'm using the ZSpeed under tray too.

When the guy who's car is in the pictures comes in for the diffuser design, he will confirm it's level and not angled upward.

Yeah, it sucks too. I freaking hate that the middle was not keep flat. Too disruptive to airflow. I am thinking about going back to stock.

Spooler 01-03-2021 07:35 PM

Thing for me is I don't want to buy somethings else that doesn't work as intended. I would rather spend more and have a quality piece that works.

Without seeing wind tunnel tests, you really won't know without trying it and it could end up being a waste of money. In my case, I definitely want functionality but I'm not going to install one that sticks out 6 inches either. I'd rip that thing off the first time I pull into my carport and it just doesn't make sense for a daily driver. I'm kind of screwed. It looks like you can't have the best of both worlds. I'd have to go with this one (if I get one) and hope it provides some kind of functionality (it does look nice) because I can't/won't put a true track splitter on my daily driver because it wouldn't last a week.

Exactly, I am not putting a 6in long one on my car either. They look stupid and they may or may not work. Plus, I drag mine a good many of places. Putting the car in my trailer would be even worse. Still not sure what I want to do yet.

This one is one of the nicer ones I've seen for what it is. Looking at the pics in their pdf, it appears to be pretty good quality. Not sure what I'm going to do either but I just don't see a lot of better options out there. Not for the V1 bumper.

Rusty 01-03-2021 08:57 PM

The way I have my APR splitter. It sticks out 3.5". If I even have to redo it. Think I would go 4.5" to 5".

Putting mine on a trailer would take some doing.

I looked at that also. It appears they did not connect the splitter/Undertray to the inner fender liner. That's a no go for me. We need that support because if it is not there, the front facia will buffet around and good bit.

I had to use sheet aluminum there.

Spooler 01-03-2021 09:03 PM

I have used my trailer more than I ever thought I would, that is for sure.

Spooler 01-03-2021 09:08 PM

I am kinda waiting to see what Hotrodz's guys do.
